hi Miistii,
I discussed lowcarbing and pregnancy in response to your post in the Health Issues forum,
click here to read it. It's strongly advised that you not severely restrict carbs during pregnancy, and Induction level is DEFINITELY too low. Ketosis can be harmful to the baby.
The lowcarb protein shakes would be ideal to use as between meal snacks or quick breakfast / lunch. Just make sure they're not sweetened with aspartame or sugar (fructose). Add a handful of berries, a heaped Tbsp ground flax seeds and a little yogurt to blend into a smoothie .... the carb count will still be low enough, and the berries and flax will add fiber!!
The protein bars should be ok to use once in a while, again make sure there's no aspartame used to sweeten. Also, some of the bars are sweetened with glycerin, which doesn't raise insulin levels, but it definitely has carbs (the labels are false if they don't count it as a carb). There's no evidence that glycerin is harmful in any way, but it has been known to cause fluid retention. Especially since you'll be in your third trimester during the heat and humidity of summer, this might not be a good thing to happen.
A better snack choice would be real food, like raw veggies, some cold meat, tuna, hard-boiled eggs or a piece of cheese.
Take care, and keep us posted how you're doing ..
