Mercola mixes just enough truth into his marketing plans to make it look like he's enlightened. I've come to regard him, at best, as a copycat who is in it for the money. He's got multiple sites from different angles.
The term "functional medicine" is a good guideline, though like everything else, someone's out there trying to scam people with buzz words. My newest physician is an actual doctor who describes himself that way, and it's such a relief to find someone who looks at my cray-cray summary of all the food strategies, supplements, and care practices I need to help my conditions.
I'd add Dr. Teresa Wahls, who put her MS into remission, went from a wheelchair to biking events, and wrote a book. I followed her protocol, found my sweet spot, and I'm enjoying better control of my own autoimmune disorder.
