Smile wheat bread question

hello:
I am new here: wondering if anyone is familiar with Hartford Farms 100%wheat bread ..all whole grain ,no white flour,no transfats, no saturated fats: protein 4g,sugars 2g,fiber 2g,calories 90 per slice total carbs 17grams. Is this good for the atkins diet after induction? What would be the true carbs per slice?

Hmmm... that would be 15 grams of net carbs per slice. That's a little high. I've heard better numbers. Unfortunately, I can't recommend a brand, since I haven't seen any near where I live. But keep looking. It's that net carb count (total carbs minus the fiber) that you want minimized.

wow.... you are right thats is way too high! I was not figuring it correctly I guess. All that gets subtracted is the fiber?

Try Nature's Own 100% whole wheat. 9g of carbs per slice. I usually eat half a slice or slice once every couple of weeks.

Thumbs up Nature's Own also does reduced carb whole wheat bread

At only 7 g carb per slice. And with 2 g. fiber that's only 5 g effective carbs(!) for those who subtract fiber.

Looks and tastes just like bread, too.

Even the kids can't tell the difference .
