Good Morning!

Up early again and DH out hunting. Not sure what I'll get into today. I may go to a furniture store and look at some table & chair sets for my kitchen. I think I know what I want, now to find the ONE. I looked at some yesterday but have another place in mind to go look. On Tuesday we meet our contractor to pick out the bathroom vanity and flooring for both the bathroom and kitchen...and the back splash for my kitchen. Exciting and overwhelming!

--------

Jaz.....Safe travels back home today. Hope the traffic is not too horrendous.

Trig....Hope the trip to take DD back to school is good. I'm sure campus will be buzzing today with everyone coming back.

Nic....Hope things are going well.

--------

Enjoying my coffee and quiet this morning. Later!

Lori, let the 25 go and stay warm LOL that 25 ain't worth the bone chill HAHA

My hubby didn't even mention hardly hunting. he checked for leases but nothing is coming up that is suitable for what he wants. Where does your hubby hunt? State game lands or private lease or ? just wondering. I get the feeling that the Chop is done hunting but I can't say that cause he loves it, might just be a lull before he does find a land lease that works for him, never know. So glad your DH is still enjoying hunting tho!!

Ohhh on new table set and wow on moving forward with work done to your house. I stagnated right now. Just told hubby to cancel our guy until the new year. I don't even want to get involved yet with any reno LOL hope your stuffs goes well for ya!

Jazz, yikes on the dud spud, worse than dud spud as you told us how he was, yuk. Cut.....RUN! you did, smart gal HA

you are back to Greenville today. Did I mention my nephew Brett lives in Greenville also? Works IT job there and loves the area.

Nicco, WHAT'S UP? Your turn to be more silent ahhh, we all got times we can't keep up but hope all is going ok for you and everyone!!!

----------- I GOT A MEOW!!! Yup went out at 5am to fill the cat chow and Black Panther was in the garage. I heard meow, meow from under the right shelf area and out popped Panther. Up close, SO fuzzy....like it's tail was in a light socket LOL Went by me slowly and went to food bowl and started eating so I just went slow out the door and into the house. I guess I got me a cat now This one is taking up living in the garage I think but the other cats come and go, no others are sleeping in there I think. SO COLD now ya know, gotta feed the poor things.

OFF TO UNI later. kiddo ok again and ok to go back. Yup she is like not wanting to leave home when she gets here but she comes to her senses and wants outta here but what is pizzing her off is having no car now. She won't take a rental I wanna give her, which is crazy, but hey.....she will have her car fixed sooner than later now and when she goes back new semester she will have her car and back to normal routine.

see on weekends or time off she goes hiking in the mountains and drives to trailheads. she sends me pics of her at waterfalls and all on trails and then she travels to neighboring towns to shop diff. stores. She likes to hunt out consignment or thrift/goodwill stores. So it keeps her busy as she wants but no car, she is caught so with car coming back I think she will be in better shape again. all good.

travel. zc food...UGH...probably get naked sausage/egg cheese on road, probably get naked cheeseburgers on road. Home I am defrosting a big sirloin steak....when I get home tonight that sucker will be defrosted and ready to sizzle for me

ok off I go. be good all, have a fine Sunday!

Ohhh, we did not put up the Xmas tree. Kiddo didn't even mention it. huh. Will put it up before Dec 13 when I get her again, til then, it DON'T look alot like Xmas around here LOL

Hey all catching up and touching base

I fled to DE yesterday (Sat) morning to get in one last visit before my Mom comes. I needed a people break and time to breathe. So essential for me! DH is playing poker all day today so that alleviates my guilt over abandoning ship.

I can't believe I am signing the lease for my mom on the 30th. That is just crazy. A month and a half ago I was thinking she wasn't coming until next summer but things sure changed fast.

Gonna enjoy the days here, probably headed back on Tuesday sometime and then prepping for a life shift.

Lori- exciting to be picking things out! I know you will love the changes once they are complete- the process maybe not so much.

Trig- awww you gots a kitty! Love it, you Softy!
Glad kiddo decided she was happy to go back- you must be making it too cushy over there for her lol

Jaz- ugh dating just sounds like the worst, but I do know plenty of people who met their person online so you never know. I hope your time with your Mom and her husband was overall good enough at least- now you can go home and see your kids!

Hey ladies- Most likely the last to post and I might be the first (depending on Lori! )

Back in Greenville- Traffic was bumper to bumper the entire way. Traffic was thankfully moving, slow but moving. I am tired, grumpy, bitchy, and just in as Trig says "the MOOD".

Anything I say going forward is not productive. I am crawling into my girl cave and watching a movie and not speaking till morning. The sun will be out, and the day will be different!

TILL then my dear friends. Pulling the covers up.......

Good Morning!

The last few days of November.....where has the month gone?

Today I'm going to cook some venison burger It sort of turns my stomach just thinking about it. I have to get over it and just eat it! I'm going to make a big pot of chili and DH wants some burgers. I've been doing some reading about the best way to season it etc. My friend told me to get some Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix to put in it and I'm going to add onion and all manner of spices. On Pinterest I read that you need some sort of "acid" to counteract the gamey taste and they suggested Worcestershire sauce. I'll try.

DH is going to his part-time job this morning and I'll be left in peace for a bit. Tomorrow is his 72nd birthday.....the old fart! We'll have a full day of meeting with the contractor for choosing flooring, vanity & shower enclosure and then looking for a stove and kitchen table and chairs. We're meeting DS & his girlfriend for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. No cooking for me tomorrow!

---------

Jaz.....Thanks for checking last night. It sounds like you had an awful trip home. I hope your Monday is not too busy so you can recover a bit.

Nic....Have a good few days in DE before your world is turned upside down! You have a lot of balls in the air.

Trig....Will DD's car be ready for her to take back to school after Xmas? I'm sure she misses being able to explore and go different places.

---------

Gabby must have forgotten that we didn't have to get up early this morning..HA! She decided at 4:20 that we had been in bed long enough. She had breakfast, played a little and then went out. She runs the household for sure!

Happy Monday!

Good Morning!

Yup- I knew sleep and peace and quiet was my ticket. I feel much better this morning!

I agree WHERE HAS NOV. GONE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?- What happened? Ya blink and months are flying by...... years....... OMG.

Lori- I think you are in the "fun" part of a remodel. The picking stuff out stage. Are you two going to attempt to swing an added bathroom?
Awesome you don't have to cook tomorrow. I have heard Texas Roadhouse is pretty good. That and Longhorn, which is pretty popular here.

OMG any pet, or person that got me up at 4 something every morning would be finding new lodging! LOLOLOL ... I know these pets find a way to our hearts for sure.

I can't wait to hear your report on deer meat. BLECK....I couldn't do it. You are more adventurous than me. I have had it once and couldn't get past the taste. It's just gross. (I'm not helping here I know!) LOL
I am pretty basic. I can't eat oysters either. I am losing the taste for most fish unless they are Coldwater from up north. I never eat anything from Asia anymore. So, I get food aversions. They are real. Post up on it, I am hopeful you do like it. You have a freezer full. Maybe you could give some to your GS! HAHAHAH

Nic- I hear you loud and clear on wanting some peace and quiet! Truly though I think once your mom gets settled and all it will be ok! That is the gift of ASSISTED living! Plus, they have activities and such. They do keep them busy. She will have her own apt right (room).

How are you liking that 3 seasons room you added? Did you decorate there? I would be taking a beach walk if I was there. cold or not- I am missing beach time! You lucky duck! Something peaceful about the wintertime and having the beach to yourself! It is pretty awesome. I was in Charleston this time last year. Had the beach mostly to myself. LOVED IT.

Do you cook for yourself while there? Read? I think it is so cozy!

Trig
- did you get kiddo safely back to Uni life? Trust me a year from now she may or may not even come home! hahahaha- She is still adjusting.

I can see though the angst from not having a car and away from home! That would be unsettling. When is the car supposed to be fixed? OMG, I tell you trying to get a car fixed anymore is a nightmare! I was out 2 months over essentially a bumper and some minor repairs to the headlights. It is the parts that are an issue. Hopefully, as you said sooner than later at this point. Also, you mentioned she loves to hike and sends you pictures! That is AWESOME!

I thought for sure your tree would go up this visit! Just as well for you I know!

Aaaawwwwwhhhhh you got a full-fledged CAT HOUSE now you are supporting, and Panther is your new "boy". Nope can't let them freeze. They are most likely WAITING for food now! HAHAHAH. You still got the goat?
----------------------------------------------------------

Well- I am up a few pounds from the eating fest we call Thanksgiving. I was mostly stellar- it was just all too much. Plus, a nibble here and there adds up. BACK on the MEAT TRAIN.

I am doing BBBE for a good minute. I boiled up some eggs for deviled eggs. I add mayo, mustard, salt, pepper and paprika. Simple. Making some oven bacon today and got a ribeye out from my meat box that came. I am excited to try it. That is going to be that.
The scales need to hit that low and keep on moving! Tightening it all up. I mean you don't starve with ribeye and deviled eggs! It really does sound good to me! I am back in it!!!!!! My freezer is jammed with steaks and high-end meat and loving it!

Enjoying my coffee. I am in a way better mood. I just needed the space to decompress. The sun is truly going to be out today. A bit on the cool side, but hey we are almost into Dec. here!
Yup- that blows my mind! DECEMEBER. Then a New year is upon us.

How many years now? I have lost count. I know I was in Greenville the first time and worked over at the hospital when I found you all on that other forum. I had just put on all that weight from a fall! BACK THEN!
I tell you this body will not absorb another fall. We as women especially, need to be so careful. I am so mindful now.
I am still trying to think how many years now????
Think of all the places I have lived since then? I lost count! HAHAHAH

Cyber Monday ladies- last call for last minute gifts. Amazon has my address!!!!! LOLOL

Later Gators.

Hey all!

Jaz glad you got back safely. Traffic is no fun. Good to take a breather and come back happy!

The three season porch is pretty new so no, we haven't done anything more- it has several chairs and some of my photography on the wall. I don't know that we will do much more with it. It will be a screened porch part of the time of course.

I definitely cook in DE. I pretty much do like I do at home. I read, hike, bike, sometimes play pickleball, hang out with folks, hang out alone etc. But it is a more relaxing, simple place than the MD house which just has a lot of stuff, you know, from all those years of raising a family. This one is just so simple and I love that.

Lori HBD to the hubby tomorrow (tues!) I hope you are able to find the things you all want for your remodel!

Headed back to MD tmrw. Going to bed now!

Good Morning!

5AM and one cup of coffee down and I'm thinking about a 2nd one. 4:15 wake up call as usual. Sigh.....

Pleasantly surprised by the deer meat experiment. I used 2 lbs of venison burger, 3/4 lb of sausage, and a bit of beef burger, onion, garlic, onion soup mix, Worcester sauce. Mixed it all up and used some in a big batch of chili and made a pile of burgers to freeze. I actually ate one of the burgers and a bowl of chili. Quite tasty and no "funky" smell or taste. Next I'm going to try making a meat loaf using some bbq sauce.....I've been gathering recipes and hints on cooking it. I just have to use some of it....I have a freezer full!

Meeting our contractor this morning to pick out flooring etc. for the remodeling project. This afternoon we're going to go look at stoves and kitchen tables and chairs. I'm going to be bleeding money for the next few months. Oh well....it'll be so nice when it's finished.

Ok.....more coffee needed. Happy Tuesday!

Lori-- I am shocked at your Deer burger/ Chili! Huh, who knew!!!! LOLOLOL. I guess if it was cooked the right way! So glad you are trying out new recipes. You know you will be way ahead of us if the "grid goes down"- you already like it! HAHAHAH

So, what did you decide on your picks for the remodel? I can't wait to hear!!!!!!
Is it cold up there?

Nic- Loved your post on just simple relaxation. Nothing better! Safe travels home and good luck with the mom move! Is that the 5th you go get her?

Hiya Trig! You get that kiddo tucked in? LOL

Believe it or not busy work day!!!!! - finished late and talked out!

Catch ya in morning! I am totally work from home tomorrow. I will have chat time, sipping coffee!
I need to look up a recipe for "Ranch Steak?" Ever heard of it?

Have great evening

Good Morning!

Busy day yesterday! We met with our contractor and picked out the vanity, shower, flooring for both bath and kitchen and backsplash for my kitchen. My head was spinning! In the afternoon we went and picked out my new kitchen stove. They will hold it for us until we're ready. I'm happy with it. Still looking for the perfect table and chairs for the kitchen. Our kitchen floor will be a wood look vinyl plank, the bathroom is a white marble look and the vanity is dark blue with a lighter gray top. My kitchen backsplash is a stone look...love it! Then we went to Texas Roadhouse for DH's birthday dinner...delish, but I ate WAY too much and the scale let me know this morning!

My cleaning lady comes today, so DH just said why don't we go shopping for tables? He's into it! He even agreed to let me get a "pub" table that will be counter height so I have more work space in the kitchen. He was against it, but as we were looking yesterday, he told me to get the higher one, if that's what I want.

A leisurely morning and then DH & I will hit the road for some shopping this afternoon. Wheeeeee!

Have good days!

Good Morning!

Lori- You remodel picks sound great! Can't wait to see everything when completed. I have had "regular" table and chair and a pub style table too!
You are right a Pub style will give you more room. The thing about those you can't use them as much for other stuff........ They are "Eating" tables and are normally a bit smaller..... ie less people. Something fun to think about!

Girl I am up 4 pounds from my low over Thanksgiving! I am back at it hard to get them off! They stay if left unattended! LOLOL

Are you getting that Nasty snow Ohio got? Yay on having such a fun day! Oh... one more thought. I had those "wood" like planks in my dollhouse and LOVED LOVED LOVED them! They clean up and shine so well!

Nic- you resting up in the MD area? I am lost in your plans. You ALMOST move around as much as me! LOL Except your "Airbnb" is paid for and yours, and near a beach!!!! Have you collected any shells from there?

Trig- You get the kiddo settled in? I thought of you yesterday as I took my thawed Ribeye and slapped that bad boy in a hot buttered pan! I was a bit disappointed it was not as thick as I wanted. It was hard to tell from a frozen state it came in. It was still yummy though.
----------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of meat, I had thawed out that steak and a package of "ranch" steaks. That is a fancy term for tough cut. I ended up cutting it into "stew" meat and making chili out of it for today and tomorrow! IT was turning a bit brown in the package so I needed to use or lose it.

I can say so far- I am not "all that" impressed with the meat box. The steak was thin and the "ranch steak" had to be turned into stew meat. But hey- it was a deal. I am curious to see how the ground chuck and chicken are. I most likely will not go with that box again. But the meat is ok- just not rockin for the $$

Cold here and sunny. I don't "do" cold! I have on Candy Cane Christmas leggings and a hot pink sweatshirt. Uniform for today! Hair jacked up and zero make up. That is the way I roll when Working from home. LOLOLOLOL

Have a good one. I have to get busy! I have 3 new case files today to sort out.
