what a nice thing to say angie. happy new year to you too.

off topic i know but what grades do you teach? how long have you been in the education field? I use to be in the social work field for 10 years - we are all orally fixated as a group. lol

I agree this is much better that WW - convenience, price, knowledge, etc.

Look forward to hearing how you both did. I am not totally restricting myself for this one night but am certainly more aware of what i am eating and make my low carb choices paramount. If I have some high carbs - so what. I will not be like my 'typical evening of around 500 carbs. back to square one tomorrow. i think for 'special occasions, it is important not to set ourselves up for failure and extreme crtiticism.

Good luck - the end is in sight (of all these high carb holidays I mean).

Thank goodness this holiday season is over! I tried not to beat myself up over having a few drinks at my get together. But I totally feel like any indulgence is out of my system. I'm ready to get back on track. Tomorrow will be good!

I teach 3rd grade (and have for 4 years) and love it. I'm going to graduate school to get my master's in administration.

I agree about the special occasions... if you don't have some flexibility during fun times, you are more likely to blow it during the normal times. My birthday is at the end of January so I'm going to do my very best to lose some weight before then.

Happy New Year!
Angie

Good attitude Angie. I have a girl in grade 3 and one in K. Getting your masters is demanding in itself. Just think how clear your mind will be after being on the low carb diet.

New Years was great. I ended up with about 60 carbs but not bad. We did a fondu with chicken, steak and pork. Another fondu with cheese and veggies (eveyone dipped with some bread but me) 4 glasses of wine and shrimp ring.

How was everyone elses new years?

Today for brunch
one poached egg 1
turkey bacon 3

dinner left over meat to fondu again - 0
dips and sauces - 4
veggies and blue cheese dressing - 6

coffee and half and half X 3 - 4

total 18

water = 8 eight oz glasses
calcium/magnes supplement. - ? (anyone know the carbs on this)

may have some popcorn with butter later tonight.

Happy 2002

I didn't do so well on New Years Day... but it's over and I'm over it! But today I did really well.

I woke up late so I just had coffee then it was time for lunch.
I wasn't all that hungry so I had some cheddar cheese along with a cucumber with ranch dip. I usually make some sort of dip and cut some cucumber or celery for a quick snack. I make one of the dips from a packet (my favorite is Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch - you add a little cheese and some green chiles - yum!) or I like spinach dip, as well. I find it really easy to grab a quick snack if I have it ready! For dinner I had a green salad (lettuce, tomato, black olives, and cheese with Italian dressing). I also made my husband sloppy joe's so I had a little bit of the meat... I'm such the gourmet cook - ha! For dessert I had sugar-free jello with a touch of cool whip. I also had 6 glasses of water. Not quite 8, but not bad! I hate drinking water. I love water, but I hate forcing it down.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Angie

Sounds like you had a good day.

Today was good here. If you have time try fitday.com and I have my daily food journal set up for public viewing - yes public viewing. Anyway it is pretty interesting. I am under canadaF35 and you can see what I have been registering for food the last week. Today 1552 calories, 104 g fat, 22 carb, 129 protein.

Also found an interesting site for weight training geared specifically for women. I am still doing some research on it. If you are interested I can let you know more. It is funny as hell.

Have a good evening Angie and talk to you soon.

Christy

I did not feel well yesterday either. I've been having sinus/allergy problems in the a.m., but usally it's fine by noon. But yesterday I felt bad all day.

Breakfast:
3 slices of bacon
coffee with non-dairy creamer

Lunch:
cheese

Dinner:
orange
saltine crackers

I really didn't have much yesterday, but I was never very hungry. For dinner nothing sounded good at all - even carbs. So I just had some crackers. I'm not sure how many carbs, but I'm sure it's okay. That's the only thing about lc is when your sick, you want something like crackers or soup. Oh well. Once in awhile won't fatten me up too much. I'm rarely sick!

This morning I feel much better. Thank goodness!

TGIF,
Angie

Congratulations! You are doing so well.

Breakfast:
2 slice whole wheat toast

Lunch
green salad with Ranch dressing

Dinner
green salad with lightly breaded chicken strips (Chic fil A) - I tried to pick off as much of the breading as possible.

Keep up the good work!

Angie
