Default Quit date coming up

Hi

I've set a quit date of Monday November 11.

Any advice to make this easier? I've read a few of the other threads about chewing on straws, etc....I've always used hard candy....mainly lollipops....you can play with them!

I've been taking Zyban....and intend to use the patch.

I've lost a total of 43 pounds since May....and I hate the thought of gaining back even an ounce of it! But I also know I must stop smoking!

Any advice, support would be greatly appreciated!

Cindy

I quit smoking 7 months ago from smoking 1.5-2 packs a day for 25 or more years. If you aleady on Zyban things should be a little easier. I tried the patch but took it off after 3 days. I found it made me want more nicotine. It's kind of like having a bite of chocolate everyday..you just want the rest of the bar. After taking the patch off things got easier.Just make failure not an option. There are some great web sites to check out ...quitsmoking.com ...It seems the more information you have the better it is, plus it nice to chat with others in the same boat as you. What ever you do don't trade smoking for eating..there are other options.I you don't aleady have an excercise program start one. I am probably healthier now at 44 than I was at 24..just a few pounds heavier. I am now trying to loose my quit smoking weight. If you need some encouragement drop by my journal and I'll help you out as best as I can. Personally speaking I think staying true to this WOE is harder than quitting smoking
