Default 1st time chatter; 2nd time LCer

Hi my name is Kimberly and this is the first time I,ve ever joined a forum. I am young (spirrited) for my age, but experience is teaching me that community is a good thing. Soooo, here I am. This is my 2nd go round with LC. First time I started at 200+ lbs.(stopped weighing myself) My goal was 145, but I had a very active job at the time and found it hard to stay at 138 without loosing more. I guess the metabolism kicks back in when your body becomes "fuel efficient". Miss that for sure!!! Anyway, Here I am 5 years later at 195. In that time I've gotten divorced, quit smoking, found a great man who loves me unconditionaly, and quit my very active (good paying) job for another so I can go back to school part time. I'm big into organic and whole foods, so my problems don't lie in quality of food. My issues are with quantity and binging. I LOVE a good whole wheat multi-grain bread, until it's gone later that day. Oh and let's not forget ice cream.... So here I am, ready to be held accountable, and to offer what I can to new friends.

Kimberlysc,

1/2 cup if milk (or cream), 1/4 tsp of vanilla, 1 packet of Splenda (some use two), put it in a sanwich size zip lock. Put that bag inside a gallon size zip lock along with 2 tbs of rock salt and about half a bag of ice cubes. Shake it up until the milk thickens. Pull out the sandwich bag and put in your favorite ice cream bowl.

MMarg, Sounds easy. How long does it take to thicken? I think I'll try it with stevia. Maybe I can hook it too my gazelle while I'm working out and when I'm done I'll have a treat. Thanks.

HI KIM,

I'm new here too. I too am a whole food follower (raw food stuff). My issue is portion control as well, or maybe more of a frequency issue. I definately had a hard look recently on why I eat as often as I do.

That is a cute idea about the gazelle

Irie

Thanks everyone for your support and welcomes. I'ts only day two for me but I feel empowered with support. I had to pick up pizzas for a meeting this evening at work. Everyone there knows about my diet, and said "Oh, you can have just one piece" or "you can just eat the toppings" (well, I'm old enough to know what foreplay leads to). Anyway, I did it. I snacked on a few pumpkin seeds while everyone had their pizza. I was satisfied knowing that when I came here tonight I wouldn't have to say I cheated. Thanks for checking on me.
