Hi Im new here but not really to this WOL...I have been on low carb for about 7 weeks...I lost 20 lbs and was able to control my diabetes. My diabetes was my main issue and its surprising how much my blood sugar goes up when I cheat and have carbs. I try not too know but everyonce in awhile I give in. I just joined a gym so Im hoping that will help. I just wanted to pop in and say Hi and introduce myself. My names Edwina and Im from Halifax Nova Scotia. At present I weigh 199 and want to go to 140. I was so excited when I reached under 200lbs. its been years since I felt this great. For anyone that is sceptical of this WOL...Its the greatest and it works if you give it the chance

Thanx for listenig
Edwina

Default You sound as if you are doing great!!

I love this site!!! it helps so much with motivation!!! I am working out 5 days a week too, and that really helps... Just a quick note, remember to drink MORE water when you work out!!! You will need more!!!

Good luck and look forward to your future post...

Smile hi Edwina, welcome aboard

Yes, working out will definitely be a boon, not just for weight loss, but for the diabetes too. Quite a few lowcarbing diabetics are able to achieve good control with the diet. Soon, you may find you no longer need to check your blood sugar after eating too many of the wrong carbs. You'll become much more sensitive to sugar and processed starches, and you'll be able to "feel" the surge happen. I'm not diabetic, but I can really feel a buzz when I eat a sweet, even a so-called sugarFREE sweet. And of course, that buzz is followed by a low-bleacchhh feeling. Good reinforcement for NOT indulging too often ..

Take care, and keep us posted of your continued success.

Doreen
