Default How do you incorporate this diet when you are a demi- vegetarian?

Hello ,
I am a new member here and am just getting to know what is involved with carb intolerance diets. I have been following a Blood type diet which suggests that I should be a vegetarian... How does one follow this carb intolerant diet and maintain a vegetarian lifestlye? On the Blood type diet I am allowed to have poultry, and certain types of fish. But the protien that isn't full of carbs (like beans and rice) are limited! I need some advice. I also have just joined "Curves " gym and hopefully the extra weight I carry will also move! I haven't been one who exercises on a regular or consistent basis in the past so this is a big step for me.
I hope to be successful with this plan and hopefully I can get some answers with the topic.
Thanks very much.
Kelly

I'm not too clear on what you are saying. Are you are saying that you are a vegetarian who is following the blood type diet or a vegetarian because of the blood type diet? Your stats say you are following CAD, so it's a bit confusing to understand exactly what you're asking.

Default Blood Type diet-

Hi Karen,
Thanks for the reply. I found Dr. Peter D'Adamo's book called " Eat right for your blood type".
I have Type "A" blood and according to this Dr., I should be following a vegetarian diet. Type O's follow a mainly protien& low or no grain, Type B's have a variety of everything, Type AB's a mixture of the Type A and Type B diets. He is quite specific in what those things are. He claims that foods produce lectins and in some blood types, certain food lectins cause problems.
Some foods act like medicine in the body- these are referred to as "Beneficial Foods".
Some foods act neutral in the body and are just there for nourishment and enjoyment, these are called- "Neutral Foods"
Other foods cause this lectin agglunation in the body and can cause problems, - these are called the " Avoid Foods"
So according to this particular Diet plan, if I follow it, I really can't properly digest animal protien- Type A's are supposed to have low stomach acid and their digestive tracts should get their protien from plant products.
So this was my querry as to how to implement the low carb diet into the Blood type diet. Because a lot of the "theory" of this other diet prevents me from eating alot of meat and then I am stuck with incomplete amino acids if I can't have the carbs like beans and rice together.
Maybe this Blood type Diet isn't really for me and I should give the low carb thing a try. I understand the scientific principles behind the insulin response and how carbs trigger it. It makes perfect sense to me.
Anyways, thanks fore listening to me babble on!
I would appreciate any insight you may have on the subject.

I would pick one or the other, but that's me!

That being said, there is quite a lot of fish and poultry protein in the Type A diet as well as dairy. So You could put together a list of Type A foods that are acceptable on a low-carb plan and save the grains, beans and fruit for Reward Meals.

Thanks for the imput Karen.
I'll try to do that.
I just am learning about the low carb diet plans and was just trying to do it properly. Thus my interest in seeing if the two diets were in fact compatible.
You've helped. Thanks.
