This is now a family favorite, I made it for my fiance and he loved it too and said, "This is good!!!"

I made it like a regular chili dog using chili dog sauce, mustard, onions, hotdogs and hamburger and cheese. It's very good. For the non-lcers I served it atop of a bun. For me, I served it on my plate that's all.

Great recipe-this is one of the easiest things I've ever made!

I didn't have hotdogs so I used cut-up cooked chicken breast in place of the hotdogs. I also didn't have low-carb ketchup or tomato sauce, so I used a cup of low-carb BBQ sauce. It is really good--and it makes a huge amount, so I'll be eating off this for days. Thanks again!

hello all!

i'd like to try making this today, it sounds delicious!

i've got two Mc Cormick chili mixes here

original chili seasoning at 12 carbs for the entire package

tex mex chili seasoning at 8 carbs for the entire package

i'm not sure which one i'll use yet.

something i am unsure about though when making this is, i have never heard of sour cream and chilidogs. i see that kevin mixed his with cheese and others topped theirs with sour cream. i am more familar with my husband's version of mess dogs, that is chili dogs topped with chopped onions, sour kraut, and mustard, no cheese. i think i'll just make a base casserole and everyone can top it the way they want to. we have leftover buns from my son's birthday party so those that can eat it can glop it into a bun if they want to.

Ok, I made this tonight. Or I should say I used this as an inspiration for what I made. I didn't want to have to turn on the oven in this summer heat, and I was having to make due with what was on hand as budget is really stretched this month.

I browned the ground beef, adding some fresh pepper I picked up at the farmers market. Then I put in chugwater chili dip mix, a touch of taco seasoning, andsome cinnimon and mixed it all together. I couldn't find chili powder.

Then I spread the chili mix flat on the bottom of the fry pan, turning the heat way down, then I put the hot dog rounds on top (well tofu dogs). Then I put cheese on top and covered the entire thing. Let it cook on low for a while and topped with sour cream when done. came out great.
