I've read that, too, Jo. And talked to him about it.

But who listens to their mother?

It sounds like your toes are swelling. Perhaps a podiatrist visit could help. I had toe pain especially with driving, standing, walking and found out I had a plantar plate sprain. The podiatrist was only $69 and she put metatarsal pads on my inserts to keep my weight off the injured toes and told me to stay off my feet until they heal.

You could try icing to see if it responds after walking/activities.

I have narrow heals, flat feet that are widest at the toe. I found New Balance shoes fit my heals really well.

Hope your toes feel better.

I'll be meeting with a podiatrist in a couple weeks - I might be able to get an appointment with her, but government insurance is kind of crazy.

One more thing, Bonnie.

If you find shoes that look/feel like they'll be the right ones, don't buy them. Say you want to think about it, and write down the style number and brand.

Then you can check to see if they're cheaper online.

They probably will be.
