Unhappy Newcomer here - it's tough at times

I am new at this. I started the Protein Power plan on June 30th. I had tried several other ways to lose weight (low fat, gobs of exercise ) but nothing worked so I finally broke down and went to the doctor. He immediately put me on this plan. I have lost 10 pounds so I am highly motivated but after less than 2 weeks - I am bored with the food choices. Unfortunately, the foods that I tend to enjoy are low in fat, but high in carbs - ugh! This site has been helpful with recipes but I am also needing encouragement I guess (actually, what I need is a big bowl of ice cream smothered in chocolate syrup!). Is there any substitute for bread that is low carb? I am sooo glad I found this site!

hi iteachca and welcome! congratulations on losing 10lb in less than 2 weeks! that's terrific! old habits die hard. i've been lowcarbing 2 years and i can honestly say i don't miss pasta and potatoes anymore. i was a real carb addict. i could eat almost a whole loaf of calabrese bread before my pasta dinner! you will lose your desire for those foods. we have to keep you from being bored. check out the tips section, especially karen's "jazz up your induction" karen is our resident chef and has great ideas! you'll find the tips link at the top of the page in the red bar. hope this helps some!
