Default Atkins Bars

Morning Everyone....I re-started Atkins on Monday after being off it for about 6months and yes gained all the 11 pounds I had lost back again plus more. So I'm giving it another whirl. There comes a point in my work day around 10:30 where it takes all my strength not to head to the vending machine. So I bought some Atkins bars - I find them intolerable to eat. I can only get through half of one but I don't enjoy it in the least. I've tried the cookies and cream and the almond brownie. Anybody come across a GOOD TASTING low carb bar????
TIA Donna

I actually like the Atkins bars, but specifically HATE those flavors you mentioned! Try the Chocolate Coconut, Chocolate Peanutbutter, and S'mores flavors. I find those pretty tasty, but they do still have that protein texture.

Have you thought about bringing other snacks for your vending machine battles? Maybe some meat and cheese rolled up, egg salad, or veggies and dip? I mean, if you don't enjoy the bars, why not tote along some real food?

Good luck with re-induction!

Carb solutions taste good....too good to me! Especially the mint chocolate.

I can't lose eating bars though, I get stalled out.

If you are on induction you shouldn't have the bars.

Are you eating enough breakfast? Maybe you need more fat and protein at breakfast. Or, alternatively, 6 small meals a day might be a good choice if you can handle it.

For some people, the sugar alcohols and glycerine act like real sugar carbs for them. Your mileage may vary.

The De-lites bars are really good, I also hate the akins bars! The de-lites have 3 effective carbs you can find them at walmart in the pharmacy section they are a little over $5 for 6 bars cheaper then the akins and taste better!!!!

But wait a second guys... Beth and Sheri, you two both mentioned bars that are "candy" if I'm not mistaken. Atkins Advantage bars are sweet, but they contain a lot of protein and vitamins, unlike candy bars.

Bars can be problems with some folks... your mileage may vary. I too get hungry in the mid-morning, I combat it with 5-6 meals a day. This really helps, but you have to be prepared!

Hope that helps.

Thumbs up atkins bars

Good morning. I work 10 to 12 hours a day and the bars have helped a lot. I only start induction on the 14th of this month and have dropped 3 lbs.. The atkins bars help me get through the morning until I am able to get to lunch. The coconut choc. is good. I don't have one everyday but it save me yesterday. If I start to stall they will be the first to go, and I will try something else. I life on the road due to my job and there aren't many kitchens in motels so any advice for eating would be most welcomed.

BIOCHEM makes a bar called STRIVE that I think is YUMMY!
I've only seen two flavors, Mixed Berry and Chocolate Raspberry (my personal favorite).

Default Atkins Advantage Bars

I just found the Atkins Advantage Bars at my local Duane Reade. Now it says 21g carbs and 19g proteins and 1g sugar The thing is I just ate half a bar and it made me a little nauseated to my stomach. Like right away. Anyone had this reaction?

This is really one big reason why they deduct the carbs from sugar alcohols from these things.

Thanks Lisa. By subtracting and dividing I come out to 28carbs per bar. The label says 21. Very educative. Glad I only ate half
