Welcome to the forum, melmax, and congrats on the imprending events and on your weight loss! Sounds like you're going to be plenty busy in the coming weeks

Don't worry about those ketone strips; many never show even trace and yet lose weight just fine. Darker colour is not desireable, it's usually a sign of dehydration. If you'd like more info, take a peek at the article called "Ketones and Ketone Test Strips" under "Low Carb Tips" (in orange at the top of the page)

Best of luck to you,
Nat

Thumbs up Welcome to the Forum

Hi Melmax

It is actually good to have a time deadline (November/February). It can give an added impetus to motivation, focus and determination to look your best by then.

However (and I feel I have to point out the downside too) it can also lead to disappointment if the goal is not reached for whatever reason.

My Ketone strips never ever changed colour (!) but I lost 8 lbs in the first two weeks and have continued (albeit slower than I would have liked to) to lose steadily.

Starting a journal of your own (in Bootcamp) is a great way of keeping a record of progress and obtaining help specific to what you are eating/doing.

Take care.
