I know it's geared "against" folks like us. I know we won't make a difference in their findings because they'll discard us as "outliers".

But I strill want to be counted.

Checking back in to the Forum after a lengthy absence, I see the conversation about NWCR has revived.

Somewhere I have my registration and follow-up information from Prehistoric times when I first signed up--probably about 1999. I "converted" to LC in approximately 2001. After that the questionnaires I received became irrelevant.

In three or four years, they stopped sending me follow-up questionnaires, as they had all the data they needed from my initial "success" on the traditional low-fat/low-cal/max exercise regime. Meanwhile, the real skinny on maintenance was in finding a sustainable low-carb lifestyle.

As all LC veterans know, long-term maintenance is an entirely different game from weight loss. The first three years following a 30+ lb loss is just the honeymoon. New theories and practices matter greatly over the subsequent years.

Thanks, WereBear. Only successful in getting back in the action now. The past year was not my best. I fell prey to "Why me??" and let some bad habits slip in. But...never too late to find your best self, right?
