Default Stefansson Article Online

Everyone:

I've uploaded a new page on my site devote to "oldies but goodies" in nutrition. I've uploaded Stefansson's three-part article "Adventures in Diet", originally published in Harper's Monthly Magazine in November, December 1935 and January 1936. In the article, he describes the famous (but now forgotten) Bellevue Hospital experiments where he and a companion lived on an exclusive meat and fat diet for one year under medical supervision. The study put to rest the myth that only eating meat was harmful to health. Unofrtunately, the experiments have been forgotten, particularly by the vegetarian/vegan community. Make sure you read the long article as it is fascinating and will give you ample ammo against critics of low-carb diets.

The other article uploaded is one by nutritional anthropologist H. Leon Abrams, Jr. The review paper shows unequivocally that humans have a genetic and physiological need for animal protein and debunks many of the popular, but untrue, beliefs about animal fats and heart disease.

ENJOY! And watch for new articles to be uploaded in the coming weeks.

Your link to the site is broken. One can only get there by way of the main page.
