Holy cow - did you lop off an arm?
I would caution you not to expect (or desire!) such results on an ongoing basis. Sometimes the initial weight seems to fly right off (called a whoosh) but your body will stabilize and the rest should go at a slower but steady pace.
Good luck!

A lot of the first pounds lost is water but there is fat in the total too. So Iowa girl is right: the next week will probably show little or no loss. But that's normal and not at all bad.

You have had a wonderful beginning. Now prepare to patiently and persistently follow the plan you have chosen. Try to avoid the high carb stuff (carbage) for as long as possible, because you will never again lose as easily as on this 'first try'.

Hi Misty,

Your stats are similar to mine, and I've had the same results. I've lost 14.5 lbs in 13 days.

We'll have to brace ourselves to slow down, because it won't continue this way. But it's a nice motivating way to start, isn't it?

Well done!

K.

Default About the Weight Loss.....

When we are losing, does it matter how many calories we eat as long as it is low carb? Or do I need to watch carbs and Calories?

from what i understand, watching calories is not as important as watching the carbs. of course that doesn't mean become a glutton and eat and eat and eat. usually by eating more dense foods rich in protein and fat and low in carbs, you'll inevitably be consuming less calories than normal. you probably know this, but foods high in carbs like bread and sweets, also are high in calories and you stay hungry.
