Question Fiber

Is it acceptable to take Fiber supplements on this diet? What about Flax Seed Meal in a low carb protein shake mix? I just ordered the 30 day challenge book. Any suggestions? I will be starting this week. I did Atkins many years ago and did not do well on this diet. What is the avg rate of weight loss? Instead of weight training can I do resistance ie. circuit at gym?? Also need help with shopping list. I have two toddlers, a Resident husband who practically lives at the hospital- I can't get crazy with meal planning or I will fail. Also what other books will be helpful to me on this program?

Thank you all so much!!!

Karen

Hi Karen. Fiber suppliments are acceptable, but you'll want to stick with something like flax or psyllium - Metamucil and other brands usually have added sugar (plus added cost!)

There isn't really an average rate of weight loss, because there are too many factors other than diet and exercise that affect your metabolism: medications, dieting history, age, how much weight you actually have to lose, etc.

My only suggestion is read the book and follow it carefully. Don't 'tinker' with the program until you've followed it to the letter for a while, then you'll be able to know how changes will affect you.

If you're interested in a shopping list of sorts, mine is posted on my website. Click the 'www' link at the bottom of this post.

Another book you might be interested in is Protein Power Lifeplan. It has a lot of good background info. It's a really interesting read.

Have a good day!
