Angry Sommersizing, but not "melting"!

Anyone out there who is Sommersizing, but not experiencing the "melt" that Suzanne talks about in her books? I've been at it for 6 weeks with only a few cheats, but have only lost a few pounds.

Hi, Lynda!

I'm not a Sommersizer but I know alot about the plan and I've read the books and the suzannesomers.com bulletin board. The ladies there could also give you advice.

I gather you recently switched to SS and you were doing a different plan earlier?

Two thoughts based on your weight:

You don't have much to lose so it's going to be slow with any plan. More than 1/2 - 1 pound a week could be unrealistic.

Many sommersizers have to watch fat when they don't have many pounds to lose. If your fat consumption is very high (alot of cream, cheese, etc) it could be slowing you down. It still comes down to calories to a certain extent and they less you weigh, the less your body needs. If you post some typical daily menus it would help. Many of the ladies at suzannesomers.com do a lower fat version of SS when they don't have alot of weight to lose.

Are you exercising?

I was previously on a low carb plan, but not necessarily in conjunction with food combining. You're right, though, the fat probably has a lot to do with it. I've been trying new Sommersizing recipes which have a lot of cream, butter & cheese. I also haven't been exercising as much as I should. My weight loss has picked up in the last couple of weeks - I'm up to 7 lbs in 7 weeks - guess I shouldn't complain! I'll check out the bulletin board at suzannesomers.com - thanks for your input!

For your weight, 7 pounds in 7 weeks is great!

I think if you cut down on the fat it will make a difference; also a bit of exercise.
