I don't know why they haven't figured out that if starchy vegetables are not healthy then starchy seeds (AKA grains) are also unhealthy.

Well, they did say "minimize...refined grains." If people are eating quinoa, whole wheat kernels, and maybe some steel cut oats, that's a massive improvement over pasta, bread, and cheerios. Maybe not perfect for people with diabetes, but a solid step in the right direction. I don't think that they haven't figured out the problems with those foods, but that they'll alienate all their funders if they say don't eat them and also don't want to be seen doing a 180 after having dug their heels in over this for so long.

I was also excited to see Dr Yancy state that Duke Diet and Fitness Center now offers three carb levels, the lowest being Keto similar to the outline on DietDoctor. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb...l-doctors#yancy

A few years ago a friend of mine attended for two weeks, and although they offered a low carb optional menu, the foods were no where near "low". Not that Dr Yancy didn’t know the right foods, but the nutrionists entrenched there wouldn’t go all that LC. He's been slowly turning that ship around, so having this consensus report lends more support to DFC and any other similar clinic option.
