Hi Paula,

Welcome to the forum!

Please take the time to read through our journals and postings. You'll find them very inspirational and illuminating. You can even keep your own journal here if you want to. Read the Tips section in the red bar at the top of the page. If you haven't read any books on low-carbing, such as Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution or Protein Power yet, it's something that you will have to do to get a good overall understanding of how it works.

You are here with almost 1000 low-carbers. Some are active posters, some are "lurkers". Some visited for a while, some of them decided not to low carb. This site is not unique. There are many sites that have low carbing forums. But, what makes all these sites unique, is that we all poo-poo conventional wisdom when it comes to health and well-being. Let others be negative. You're doing this for yourself, not for anyone else.

Look upon as what you are doing as a big change in your way of life, not a diet. At first you will obsess on the scales because it's so wonderful to lose weight. But, because it is a life change, the change can be slow, frustrating and depressing. Be willing change. Everytime you "hit a wall", try a new approach to find the "door" in the wall. What you get back for your willingness is incredible.

I've probably given you more advice than you asked for here, but hey, it's my best advice!

Keep posting!

Karen

Default Hi, Paula!

Welcome to the board! There's lots of great info and ideas here, and we just keep on growing! (OK, individually, we're shrinking!)

There are other UKers here, for ideas on products, etc. available in your local area.

Keep us posted!

Rachel

Smile Welcome...I'm new too!

Hi Paula,
Welcome to a truly wonderful place! I joined a week ago, started LCing last tues and I feel wonderful! Have you tried posting a journal in bootcamp, I started and it helps me out so much knowing I will put it out there for everyone to see what I EAT! yikes there was a time when that would have made me nuts, now it seems to free me and keep me grounded. Good luck and keep posting it is a great release! Nancy
