Talking Doctor's attitude toward low carb ...

Its amazing how much things have changed.
When I went to my doctor in 2010-2012 .. he did not approve of my diet one bit - gave me a bunch of literature and wanted to send me to a dietitian to get "educated"

I started diet again a few weeks ago and went in today to get my first baseline series of tests done .. "What diet are you doing?" "Keto .. Atkins .. whatever its being called these days" ... "Excellent - very effective if you stick with it - very healthy" .. exact same doctor as from 2010/2012. LOL!

Funny how we were the "arrogant" ones back then ...

LOL

Glad your doc finally saw the light!! He,s ahead of the curve.

I went to dietition back in 2001, came home, dropped literature in trash. Followed Atkins. Then for giggles went back many years later, still same ole speech.

The system is slow to change, but it IS changing.

Yeah .. I can't recall what test it was for .. but he said if I'm in Keto I don't need to do the fast .. I was surprised that not only his attitude changed but he was more familiar with the specifics of it ...

Glad keto is working for you.

As for docs, the "Im superior" attitude becomes ingrainec rather auickly. When I worked at a research facility where dozens of MD/PhDs congegated in the summer months, only a rare few were not so opinionated. I can think of three, total. They thrived on competition and running. Somewhere their innate humanity had been drummed out.

Our family physician was a cool guy. The kind my mothet often invited over for dinner. She never invited any of the docs mentioned above.

I guess I'm lucky. My current doctor since 2015 and my previous one both supported low carb diets
