Default Doing LC on your own or using E-Diets?

Just curious...is most everyone doing this on their own? I am, but was wondering if people who use a program like E-diets are seeing quicker/better results? I've never liked the idea of having to "pay someone to lose weight", but might would consider if some of you think you do better using the E-diets program.

In my honest opinion, there are too many "free" sites out here to pay for something like e-diets. I.E. This site being one of them. Also aot of peple use fitday.com. It helps you to log your daily food intake, track weight loss or gain, journal, track physical activity, etc.

What feature of E-Diet were you wanting to use??? I would say ask around on this site, and surf the internet before you spend money using E-Diet.

Good Luck

Denise

DANDR and the info here, plus other reading, has been enough. Don't track what I eat all that much anyway, except on paper.

Default i hate ediets

I personaly am signed up for ediets and do not like it at all. And if you cancel before the first 3 months is up they charge you like $30. Ridiculous. I've gotten more help by far from this site.

Interesting! The only reason I thought it might be worthwhile is because they send you a food/meal plan and that makes me think I would definitely be eating all the "right" things. But then again, I don't know that I want to be prisoner to a laid-out menu. I think you're right...there is tons of valuable info to obtained from this board!

I got into e-diets before I found this site!

IMO e-diets is VERY commercial, not terribly helpful (I keep a low-tech food diary in a copybook), the diet tips they send you are often not LC but low fat.

They work with different diets, mostly low fat, I think!

If I had known about this site, I wouldn't have subscribed there (and paid for it!).

I'm looking to finish my subscription there before the three months are up and they automatically prolongue my membership!

I never tried ediets... I think you will find more support here and the price is right!! Welcome to the forum and congrats on all the weight you have lost already...

A friend of mine subscribes just for that reason. She likes to be told specifically what to eat at what time and can't stick to anything where she has to work it out for herself or has flexibility. Personally, I think that sets you up for failure. You need to be able to determine what good choices are and how to plan for yourself. If you take their meal plans as examples to work from, that's great, but my friend only succeeds if she sticks to someone else's orders. I suppose we all need different things.
