Whenever you reply to a thread, you automatically become subscribed to it and will get email notifications when someone else replies to that thread. At the bottom of the email notification , there is a link that you can click on which will unsubscribe you from that thread, meaning you no longer want email notifications for it and you'd have to go back to the website and look up that thread yourself if you want to continue reading it. It IS true that you have to check "send email notifications" in your profile to begin with, but if un-checking it hasn't worked RawSienna, you might want to "unsubscribe" to each of those threads. There is also a link at the bottom of those email notifications that allows you to "unsubscribe" from every thread at once. And you can even go to your own preferences on this site and see what is listed as "subscribed threads" before you delete them all.
...At least this is how mine works. I've never purposefully subscribed to any thread, just got automatically subscribed when I replied. And as soon as I "unsubscribe", I get no further email notifications. Works great.

I'm confused...which isn't hard to do..LOL. I have never subscribed to a list either...as you say, as I post to a thread they go on my list. If I unsubscribe to all the journals I visit, how will I keep track of them? By going into preferences and undoing the email notification, that should (by rights, and as with any other forum I've used) eliminate the emails, while at the same time retain my list of threads.
Any suggestions?

PS. I never click on the Email Notification that is below the area that I type my "Reply" in....in the Options.
