As a Brit, I would say that yes, it is very similar to the taste and texture of McD's sausage in their McMuffin.

Woohoo! Thanks Demi. I don't know if it's a British thing, but I don't have any other experience of 'breakfast sausage' (other than just eating regular sausages in a full English) that the McDonald's one. Now that I know this is a similar tasting sausage, you have just made my other half very happy - me too! I can easily just make those for both of us and stick his in a muffin for a nice breakfast experience.

Love this recipe! Absolutely delicious! I found the sausage to be spiced perfectly ( and that's without the cayenne)

I hate making sausage, but I will pass the recipe on to my husband.
We also have problems finding a meats without sugar.
