Hi Vicki, day 5 for me today.
I've been on LC for quite a while, but had pretty much fallen off over the holidays. I started LCing again (Induction) on saturday, and quit smoking on Monday. I'm also using Zyban and the patch.
I've quit many times, but I have to say this is the easiest it's ever been! Almost no actual cravings....still have the habit to break, but so far so good!
This time, being on LC and over 50, I made up my mind I was going to quit and not gain any weight. Since Monday I've lost 4#. I keep lots of snaky foods around....nuts, celery sticks, etc...and I've planned every meal since quitting....but I've really not wanted to snack!
Other times I've quit I pigged out majorly! One time I gained 10# in less than 2 weeks!
Give it a shot. Take the Zyban for a few weeks, then quit. If you need the patch too, ask your doc about using both.
