Default Eugh headache!

Morning...day 4 here and so far so good with the low-carbing until this morning. I've woken up with a shocking headache...Am working on the assumption it's a keto-flu type symptom. Looking on the positive side it means I'm starting to head into ketosis...but other than drinking lots of water, any tips to get through the next couple of days? I have to go into the office so hiding out in bed all day sadly isn't an option

Have a great day all!

Hi

Drink fluids, but also make sure you are getting enough salt. Electrolyte drinks, the ones not laden with sugar, or salt your food generously.

All the best!

My guess is that it might also be from a lack of regular caffeine.

I experienced it because I stopped drinking 3-4 cans of Coke a day. So I had some black coffee, which helped.

Day 6 for me today. Hope you are feeling better!

In Doctor Atkins' book, he suggests that you raise the carb levels if you suffer adverse reactions. Be gentle on your body - it's less stressful on your system. Stress increases the insulin in your body, so it is counter-productive to trying to lose weight. Low-carb dieting should make you feel good and not worse. There is no need for draconian measures.

^^^ what Kirsteen said. Up your carbs a bit.

Salt. Salt replacement is critical on LC . Sea Salt and Lo-salt or NoSalt for wide number of minerals and more potassium, respectively. Low salt usually results in muscle cramps.

Salty broth helps with both.

I've been there! Always the same at around day 3 or 4. Definitely agree with the comments about upping your electrolytes.

It will be over soon!
