Default only lost 1/2 pound in a week

I started the Protein Power diet a week ago today and have only lost a pound. I eat a lot of vegetarian foods high in sodium but I drink a lot of water. Any suggestions as to what my problem might be? I'm eating about 55 grams of carbs.

My guess is that since you don't have much to lose, it's going to take longer. Also 55g of carbs per day is going to make for slower weight loss. 1/2 pound is great! At 55g carbs per day, and being so close to your goal, I would be celebrating 1/2 pound loss. Keep it up, you're doing great.

PS...My plan says Atkins, but I followed PP for about 6 years (1995-2001), so I'm very familiar with it.

ditto what elle said. your loss is going to be slower. When I'm trying to lose I stick with a 30-40 grams a day amount. Evne then, when you get down to the last few pounds it takes a while to lose.

While echoing both replies, I'll also add that it's GREAT you are drinking lots of water and my only other suggestion would be to encourage more activity (or, if you are already active, be sure you're giving your body enough hydration and food). I found with PP that I felt better and was much healthier, but weight loss came more readily with more exercise. Good luck and congrats on your progress so far...while I know you want more, it's enough to celebrate for sure!
