Hi ageekott,
Those with a Candidiasis infection should always avoid fermented foods such as soy sauce, cheese, beer, alcohol, vinegar, sauerkraut and pickles as well as mushrooms and sugar alcohols. These would normally be considered acceptable low-carbohydrate foods.
You should take the online "candida tests" to see the probability that you have a yeast infections. Links are available on my page:
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, IBD, IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, Candida & Others.
Women have the added problem in weight loss because of the female hormones. Estrogen is an anabolic hormone, meaning it causes the body to be built-up. The result is more body fat and more difficulty in losing weight.
Give my weight loss plan a try. It is LC but has more refinements and tighter restrictions. Dr. Atkins does recommend calorie reduction and control for people who have metabolic resistance and other weight loss complications. This is the plan I used to make my goal. It was needed because of my age (64) and metabolic resistance. I do not lose weight easily but this works when applied to the letter. Please post a feedback on your results as this plan has had very little testing.
