Wink ATKINS & PREGNANCY!!

I was sat on the Metro going to Newcastle the other week and overheard 2 girls reading the Metro Paper, there was an article in it saying that Atkins may prevent Pregnancy!! (whish I had picked up the paper now)
I had so sit and laugh, I thought for Heavens Sake whatever next!!
My husband and I had been trying for a baby for over 18 months, and where due to go see a specialist, to see why I might not be conceiving. The date of that appt was January 14th 2004. I found out on New Years Day I was pregnant!!
I had started Atkins July 2003 and according to my dates had conceived by Nov of the same year!
Coincidence?? I will never ever know, but one things for sure Atkins didn't stop me getting pregnant!!

Hi Lynda,
Makes me laugh at what story they'll come up with next. After all look at all the people on low fat who can't get pregnant, but they don't state that as a factor! or those who have kidney, heart, cancer etc. It's just a push to get people off Atkins and eating potatoes and bread again and all that low fat full of sugar rubbish!

Donna.

Its amazing the scare tactics they will try to use!! I was glad I was already pregnant when I heard that, but who knows how that might have affected me, reading that when I was still desperately trying to conceive!!

I read that story, basically goes like this: all the protein that is consumed day in and day out on this diet will prevent the placenta from attaching itself to the uterine wall and therefore cause miscarriages or will even pregnancy in the first place.

Maybe they should talk to all the pregnant ladies on this board to see if the conceived immaculately????!!!! Some people will go to any lengths for a bit of publicity, I tell you!!

It kinnda makes you mad!! thank goodness I have read enough and now know enough to make my own desion that atkins has bee the heathiest and by far the best WOE for me, its the people who arnt educated enough to know the great benefits of low carbing that will be losing out, they read these pathetic articles, and oh my god I will stay well clear of that then!!

I might go on day time tv and tell them I am a modern day Mary and there is 3 wise men following a star to Sunderland

It makes it laugh that they test animals who's genetic make up is nothing like ours!! and they always seem to use high levels of whatever they are testing with!
