It was SO hard for me to give up starbucks! I don't like their regular coffee, but was ADDICTED to caramel lattes and cappucinos. I haven't had a latte in about 6 months. It is definately my weakness. I'm afraid that when i go on vacation that i'll cave in.
But at home i usually drink 2 cups per day. No coffee at work for me.

I gave up coffee (lite) during the week. It's my "treat" on Saturday & Sunday!

I drink iced espresso at least 3 days a week w/ heavy cream. Even though I lose slowly I don't think the espresso has anything to do with it. It's such a treat for me. It tastes like a coffee milkshake!!

I always thought that the caffiene in coffee itself wasn't supposed to hinder weight loss, but rather it caused an increase in cravings. I myself gave up caffiene, I only lost 6.4 lbs on induction. The one time I did have caffiene during induction, I craved sweets the rest of the day. So for me no caffiene works better.

I gave up caffeine during induction as well as anything with sugar in it. I have migraines anyway, but they were worse and more often when I gave up caffeine (soda and coffee) for about 4 days, even though I wasn't a big coffee drinker. Now I pretty much stick to water, decaf tea and sometimes diet Vernor's gingerale.
I have been stalled for about 3 months but I like whipped cream in sugarless jello and the peanut butter candies soooo much.
I'm pretty near my goal weight and my headaches are much less frequent. I'll get serious again when I am ready and try to lose another 5-10.

During induction I dropped from 6 cups of java a day to one....it was hard. However I find now that sometimes I don't even get through the one cup. The other thing I gave up during induction was my 2 to 3 Diet Cokes a day habit because of the caffeine....now that was tough. Now I may have one small glass of Decaf Diet Coke maybe once every week or two.

Luckily Caffeine hasn't affected me too much. However, I am going to try to cut it out

I start just about everyday with a cup of coffee, or four.

Coffee doesn't affect my cravings or my weightloss, but the splenda packets (weirdly enough) did. I switched to cheapo sacchrine (sp?) liquid sweetner and lost weight more quickly.

mmm.......coffee...
