Holly,

I dunno why I don't have a journal... probably cuz i know i'd never put anything in it. I'm not so good at that stuff. I was doing fitday for a while.... maybe I should at least do that....again.

I'm not sure what would keep me completly accountable. This forum and this thread have helped though.

Talking Yeah Fishy

it will be tough but I think you can make it through...

I know we all can. I have already planned all kinds of legal treats for 4th of july, so that way even though I wont be counting carbs that day my cheesecake will be a better option than say my moms.....

only 17 days left!

I did it!! Made it through day 1, 1700 calories and 11 carbs. I feel energized and ready to tackle the weekend. Thank you for your support Holly. I also adjusted my profile weight which was painful but now I can record actual weight losses if they occur.

Unhappy

Hi guys,

Could I join, too?
I started Atkin's at the beginning of may, lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks, stagnated a little and decided to take a break for one day!!!!!!
Well, here I am 3 weeks later, I have gained it all back and can't seem to get my motivation back.
Help! I need to be accountable to somebody!

Thumbs up Don't give up...ever

Hi all...I'm a newbie...just found this site and was happy to find some fellow low-carbers. I live in Southington, CT. I've have had a low-carb lifestyle since 1984. It was called the "Airforce Diet" then. I still have my original book on it. I have always used low-carb to take off unwanted weight. If I fell off the wagon while dieting I would just pretend it was a bad dream and put myself on track immediately!!! I will offer support and advice to anyone who would like to take it! I'm not an expert though...just someone who has done it for 20 years...

Hi, the Atkins diet worked for me when I was in my 20s. Now that I have entered my 50s and have diabetes, it isn't working. Help. I've already regained the few pounds I had lost.

It's good to see the activity on this thread. Halfpint, 20 years, that's great! I remember going on the Stillman diet back in the 70s. I think that was low carb too.

Thank you for the support HollyAyott. I won't beat myself up, I liked Halfpint54's idea, just pretend it was a bad dream and get back on! I am back and things are starting to calm down so look out world! By the way Halfpint54, I am just down the road from you in Plainville, CT, cool to see a member so close! I remember my dad and the "Airforce" diet, he was a Jet Pilot in the Marines down south and was constantly on that. Boy how I wished I had parents that had me follow that lifestyle back then (I was 10) I would be trim today! Great job on 20 years!!

Thank you HollyAyott. I'm hanging in there. I just have to keep thinking I use to be 314 so I have lost. But I don't count that loss because it was not low carb, that was weight watchers and medication (the PhenPhen craze!). I actually started lowcarbing at 284. But I did not start the forums until 277. So I am going to stick with it....don't worry...

Holly, I'm still here... sort of. It's hard for me when I feel like the island in a sea of carbs. For some reason my wife (who was doing this with me) is determined not to diet and she won't explain why other than because she feels rebellious. It doesn't make things any easier for me when I'm already having difficulty.
