Default Help me! Constipation and nothing is helping.

Okay..so almost 4 weeks into low carb life. Im having issues with the internal plumbing. It started last week. I hadnt gone for 5 days. I took Meg Citrate morning and night and was taking about 1000mg a day and nothing... So then i started taking senna leaf tablets. 4 tablets later and it produced a medium sized movement but nothing since. I continued taking the Meg Citrate but now another 4 days have gone by and nothing. So i tried a TBSP of coconut oil in a cup of tea with 2 tbsp hwc...and stomach rumbled but nothing. So today on top of the Meg Citrate...i took 1tbsp of coonut oil in 1/2 cup chicken broth on an empty stomach this morning and got a few horrible cramps but nothing..

While i appreciate that the senna works somewhat i dont want to be dependent on laxatives for the rest of my life. I should also add that I dont eat cheese at all and i drink lots of water each day and i eat salad every day and i exercise at a moderate level every day for an hour...so im not sure what to do or say cause i dont know what im missing???

If I feel "backed up" but just cannot produce a movement I use a glycerine suppository which usually does the trick within an hour.

I take psyllium husk twice a day. Start with a small amount then work up to whatever keeps you comfortable. You can use it to make things, or just knock it back in some water or almond milk. always drink plenty of water right after and plenty throughout the day.

I'm glad you found something that worked, PH!

It's horrid when you feel you are full of **it and can do nothing about it!!
