Default Internal Cleanse and Low Carb????

I'm so grateful you all are here to share your experiences. It seems the more I read and learn the more confused I get.

Have any of you done an internal cleanse or more specifically a colon cleanse? I was reading a book about the benefits coconuts and in there the author suggested an internal cleanse. I started to do some research on the subject and was horrified to discover the things that live in our intestines and colons so I decided to do the cleanse.

I am drinking PB Shakes that I make out of Psyllium Husk and Bentonite Clay. I'm also taking Acidophilus to replace the good bacteria. In about a week or so I'm going to add the parasite cleanse and eventually finish with a full liver and kidney cleanse.

I'm wondering if any of you have ever done anything similar? What were your experiences?

The second part of my question is while on an internal cleanse you are suppose to eat very little meat and dairy and eat lots of raw veggies. I'd like to stay under 20g of carbs a day but I've gotten my self so confused about what to eat. I almost feel like I can't eat anything!

Please, if any of you have tried anything like this let me know what you did and how it worked. Even with out the cleanse.

Have you eaten low fat and low carb?

I appolige if I posted this in the wrong forum it's just that Candida and cleanses seem to go hand in hand.

I too want to do a cleanse, but don't have much to offer in the way of which method to go.

A friend sent this web site to me but am not sure yet if it will be ok to do considering candida and all.....

I think while you are on the cleanse you should not worry about carb counting .........if veggies is all you can have during that time veggies have their own carbs.........so you can not starve yourself either. A buddy of mine told me once if I really wanted to clean myself out was to do an internal cleanse with just fresh juice from a juice extractor.......no food, just juice. I think it was a tomato, beet, carrot juice.....maybe had an apple in there too......not sure. I can imagine this way would really clean you out but you'd be REAL hungry in the meantime.

As far as no dairy........when you have candida you are supposed to stay off any dairy.....do you have candida? or are you just doing the cleanse? .......plain yogurt with active cultures is the only dairy candida sufferers pretty much eat.... Maybe you can also substitute fish for the meat.......again, not sure about the diet during this time b/c I haven't looked into it enough.

Sure hope i haven't confused you more!!! heh heh

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm not sure if I have Candida or not although it's my understanding that we all have it to a degree. The reason I posted in there is that it seems that doing a cleanse is a great way to help manage Candida so I thought there would be a lot of experience.

I've also thought about doing some kind of juice fast along with my cleanse maybe just for a day or two at a time. I figured if I kept it to mostly green veggies and broth I'd still keep my net carb count low. And I can't imagine that I'd get any fatter from fasting and juicing spinach and wheat grass!

Thanks again for the reply!

I did a 9 day cleanse not too long ago. My doctor recommended it to help jump start weight loss. It was great, don't get me wrong, but after I was done (and before i knew i had candida and gluten intolerance) i ate a box of cookies. Cleanses are great, if you can transition to food normally, but in general i prefer the slow and steady way of things.

Also, Zuleika has a type of cleanse to help rid the body of toxins. I think you take oil of oregano, ester c, and vitamin C every hour for two weeks, then every two hours for the next week.

slow and steady wins the race!
