Default no weight loss

Have been faithfully following Atkins for three months and have not lost any weight. Have been in Ketosis all that time. began the day after Thanksgiving, managed all through the Holidays, Valentines and now here comes Spring. Am very frustrated. Have no intention to add carbs however need to get the weight off!
Help!

I have symphathy as I feel the close to the same, I hope you find your answer and if you do, let the rest of us slow losers know! I will just pass on that I called the Atkins Center last week (800 number on their web site I don't remember it now) and spoke with a woman who was very helpful. She went over what my diet consisted of, and made a few recommendations. Her main one to me was drop diet coke, between the caffiene and the aspertame (both most likely spelled wrong) I was getting energy to burn from those sources so even thought I was in ketotis, my body was not burning fat for energy but those items. Good luck!

Hi Pennyroyal

How frustrating not to see any movement on the scales. You say you enjoy being low carb, so thats good. Have you noticed anything else positive happening to your body? Could it be repairing itself after years of other diets? I am sure my body had much to do from years of low fat eating.

Why not start a journal and post your daily menus. Are you eating and drinking enough? If you are not having enough calories then your body will hold onto what it has, a bit like the plateaus in other diets.

Keep at it and keep us posted as to what happens. You might like to search for 'stalls' or similar and read the threads in this forum on the subject.

Good Luck
Little Anne

Default Thanks

I am most likely drinking too much coffee. I have done Atkins-Stillman for many years with some off times during which I put on weight. I always drank all the black coffee I wanted. This time though it is amazing! I went to SC for Thanks giving wearing a size 12 jean comfortably..was quite lc there and returned to not be able to wear them again and cannot even think about a 14! The other big change for me is a rather sitting job( I am a therapist) but have always moved alot. I recently took a job as a Crisis Worker which makes me sit more than I ever have...

Are you drinking enough water - at least 64 oz. a day + 8 oz. for every 25 pounds you wish to lose? Are you eating enough calories - 10 - 12 times your current body weight?

I think you are experiencing the effects of yo-yo dieting as you mentioned that you have been doing Atkins/Stillman for years.

If this is the case, your body is fighting back. With patience, tweaking your plan and perseverance, you can get back on track.
