Default New here!

Hi everyone. I'm a long time lurker of the Parenting & Pregnancy board, but now I can legitimately post here! Yay!

My name is Lauren and my DH is Jeremy. We just found out I'm pregnant on Friday and we're absolutely ecstatic! We were lucky enough to conceive on our first cycle of trying... Belly bean is due Oct. 12, 2009.

I've been low-carbing since Sept. 2003 (lost over 40 lbs) and plan to watch my carbohydrate intake during pregnancy as well - though not nearly as much! I know belly bean needs some carbs for development, so I've added some small portions of fruit, whole grains, and dairy back into my diet. I'm not going to be psychotically strict about counting every last carb, but in general I hope to stay under 100 net carbs most days. I'm more-so aiming to get in all of the nutrients that belly bean and I need.

I also exercise regularly - on average about 4 times a week. I use my elliptical, do some light weight lifting, and have an array of dvd's (which are out of circulation for now - I'm about to order some pregnancy friendly ones to fill the void).

I know this board isn't exactly jumping, but I'm looking forward to getting to know those of you that are around here. Please come out and play!

Thanks.

We've thought of a few names. We've pretty much got it set if it's a boy and we have it down to a few options if it's a girl. I apologize for not sharing, but we've decided to keep it to ourselves until after the baby is born.
