WOW almost 3 lbs & I ate at a buffet plus a church pot luck. I did eat the right foods (mostly veggies & only the right ones) but ate more of them than I would have at home. I'm very pleased right now. Now if I can just keep it moving in the right direction.

Hey whats happened to everyone? Guess its just Summer time and everyone is busy. I know I'm getting back into everything.

I rode my real bike over the weekend. That is the first time in a year!! But I'm going to have to get a girlie bike. I can't bend my knee too great to get it up and over the bar now. And my ankle is still a bit stiff and week too. But I did it.
I've been on the exercise bike too.

Been busy, the boys are out of school, but already in Summer Sports, so that means a lot of driving around. The property we are renting, has fleas in the yard, so I have to take my poor doggy to the park everyday. She enjoyes it and I am getting in about 2 miles of walking per day. So that is the good thing. Bad thing is the eating. I am eating way too many Sweet Potatoes and Brown Rice Bread. Holding at 177.6 lbs for now.
Got the Family Reunion coming up this weekend and will be doing some traveling for it, combined with my 17th Anniversary and a quick trip to Galveston. We should be back next weekend. Leaving tomorrow morning. Yikes.

If you'd post your menus for several days, I can help you.
Also, visit the forum more and read a lot. It helps!!
Start a journal here and begin to post your food daily. That's what I did for 800 days in a row. I needed the accountability.

Nametaken!
I took a quick look at your fitday.
If you want my advice, stop eating bread until you are very near your goal. If you want to eat grain, have it be whole as in oatmeal....no wheat, no flour for now.

Also, look at getting more in the way of starchy veggies to your phase II and don't rely on grain to increase your starch.

Try to eat more phase I veggies overall.

Hope this helps! it will if you do it!

Judy,
Thanks for looking at my diary. I realize I don't eat many starchy veggies but I eat tons of phase 1 veggies. I just ate a very small sweet potato (3.5 oz) They sure have lots of carbs. I haven't had any the last few days but do eat a lot of beans.. I'll eat more. I cook them in chicken or beef broth using my small crock pot. What other starchy veggies should I be including? carrots? corn? I have rejected almost all junk food. Like now, we are having vacation bible school at church but I don't even go in where refreshments are served. I don't trust my self. I have said NO to a lot but if I lose it is worth it.
Is there any bread I can have one slice a day. I hate to give up my tomato sandwich. It doesn't seem like summer without one I haven't even had any watermelon. I know it is full of sugar.
I have discovered hummus & eat it with fresh veggies instead of chips YUMMY.
I'm really trying..thanks again.

I'm going to tell you straight and the truth...if you want to eat bread and lose weight at the same time, you need to be doing vigorous exercise.
In other words, if you don't plan on burning it, then don't eat it..if you want to see weight loss.
So no, you really can't have bread daily but you can have a slice on the weekends.
I use the Ezekiel bread that is sold at Whole Foods or any health food store. It is not only whole grain but it is also sprouted grain and not pounded into flour. Tastes amazing too....Its kept frozen and I toast 1 slice as needed.

But when I need to see loss, I lose the bread!!

Remember that beans/lentils are not unlimited and have portion controls on them.
Other starchy veggies? winter squashes are always nice....peas and carrots. *see the food lists for phase II.*

Thanks Judy for the frank & honest reply. If I can find the Ezekiel bread how often can I have that?
I am aware that beans are limited. I measure them but when I have chili I mite have a little more as it has juice & tomatoes in it. I probably don't have much more than 1/2 a cup of beans. I miss the crackers but never have them.
I like sweet potato, peas & carrots but also measure them.I haven't had peas so far except for some snow peas. I will get some frozen ones as I know cans are full of sodium. I haven't had winter squash since I was a kid.. I'll have to look for some but may be too early. Can I have all kinds of them? They are expensive here.
I have lost weight several times in the past but this time is the hardest. I'm only about 1/2 way to where I want to end up.. somehow I'll make it.

Again, any bread, even a good one like Ezekiel, needs to be seen as a detriment to weight loss. If you decide to have a slice of any bread, it'd be a good idea to see it as a treat to have once in a while or as I said, on the weekends.
If you are not losing by eating it regularly, then you need to see it as an obstacle to getting to where you want to be. Learning to eat this way, which is technically a controlled carb way of eating, we have to face the facts that our bodies just can't handle bread on a regular basis. I never ate it when I was seeking weight loss....and I mean never!! Losing the weight was my priority and I didn't care if I ate bread.
I wouldn't be telling you this if I had not gone through the exact same thing. I had to get it about the bread/flour and I think that you do too.
This is what phase II is about. We test all these foods to see how our body repsonds. You've been testing bread and not seeing any loss so its time for you to see your own test results.

Yes, you can have any of the winter squashes.
I do enjoy the Wasa Hearty Rye crisbreads. I allow myself 1-2 a day.

I do hope that this helps you.

Went on a mini Vacation for a Family Reunion and me and Hubby's Anniversary to Galveston. Not many healthy options when you are on a very thight Budget.

Planning on going back to Phase 1 for a few days as soon as we get paid and I can stock my fridge with Phase 1 foods.
