Default Is it safe to assume that the 3-4lbs I've gained this week are due to PMS?

Because I'm bloated?
Or could I have possibly gained those lbs from poor eating (pizza, ice cream)?

Gosh

Hmmmmmmm....sounds like the pizza and ice cream just might be your problem. lol

Also, check out your sodium intake if you use Fitday. When I go up a pound or two, I can almost always trace it back to having consumed too much sodium somewhere.

I gained 6 lbs due to TOM...and its over now....but still not back...so im guessing its water weight and Im have to up my water.....to get rid of it...I dont seem to drink alot of water during the weekend..but during the week....i do at work...so hopefully by tomorrow Ill see the scale go down.... Im not worried though...I feel great...and whatever the scale says im ok with it now...

I definitely gain weight during PMS and TOM but the cool part is when it's all over, I lose that weight and sometimes more. Also, I cheated one week and ate pizza and cheetoes, and by the end of the week I had gained 3 pound which sent me right back to this WOL! I can't afford to gain weight any more. Good luck!

yeah, i guess i know these things, i am just looking for some reassurance and to hear from others that this is normal. thank you

when i say i had ice cream and pizza, i mean ice cream twice and pizza like 3 times in the past 5 weeks or so. ive had popcorn and things, too but not too often.

i guess i was testing myself to see if i would gain from eating something forbidden once a week or so since i've lost the 25 or so lbs...you know? to see if i was going to be able to endulge once in a while since i plan on eating low carb for the rest of my life.

does this make sense to anyone?

i am going to go back to the diet i had going on before i decided to 'test' myself

thanks for all of the support, people. it means so much!

If the only barometer I had for predicting TOM was the scale, I could tell you every time when TOM was going to start. As-a-matter-of-fact, I do not even get on the scale during TOM. It also takes atleast three days afterward before weight comes back down. This is another reason why I think that it is wise to weigh every day. Get to know your body and understand that Atkins has only 4 phases but our body's have many.

So how much have you gained from having the occasional indulgence? I always gain a bit during my TOM so I think that is normal. Have you been weighing yourself regularly to see if it really was the pizza, etc? I'd really like to know. Thanks

It is hard to know...hehe..

I was at 147 about 2-3 weeks ago and today I am 151. I don't see how I would not have gained from the occasional pizza/ice cream/popcorn thing, honestly!
For the most part, I tend to gain 2 lbs or so with my TOM and seemed to even weigh less then before AFTER my TOM.

I am being ridiculous, aren't I? Worrying over 1 lbs or so. I think I knwo why tho...

I really feel better since I've lost weight. I am very very scared to gain it back. And I really do want to lose the rest of the weight before winter starts, as silly as it may sound.

Testing myself was silly, I suppose, but I guess I did it for a reason.

one of two thing happen to me when Tom comes-

1 - gain up to 5 pounds then whoosh to my low weight
or
2 - no weight gain then whoosh away upto 5 pounds!!

Oh course I embrace option 2!!! lol

My TOM makes me cranky and irrational and emotional and I gain weight not through some mysterious TOM thing, but because the crankiness/irrationality/emotion makes me eat crap. Sigh.

I always gain at the TOM, but usually about 2-3 pounds,(water weight and the occasional cheat....I just can't help myself at TOM!!!!) as soon as I go back, the pounds are lost and I am either where I was to begin with or a pound UNDER. I would NOT worry.

My philosophy is if you can't have a SPLURGE once in a while you won't enjoy this WOE and it will get frustrating to you.......you just have to figure out what works best for you!!

PS, we are like the same SIZE starting and now!!!!!!
