Default meat and egg fast

I am on south beach but I would like to do this fast. What is it exactly? I am assuming only meat and eggs? Veggies? Anything else that I can eat doing this fast? How much weight can I expect to loose?

OK so I just looked at the thread now...maybe I'm missing something but I didn't see anything on the specifics of the fast. I just saw the good effects...

I've never seen a meat and egg fast in Dr. Atkin's books. I have only seen the fat fast and it is only recommended for people with serious metabolic resistance and not meant for losing fat fast. In this fast, 90% of your daily calories need to be fat. Hard to do, but apparently helps to force your body to burn fat if it won't on the conventional plan.

Sweetness,
The basics of meat and egg are posted in the Meat and Egg Life Program Thread, by lynnp as Kimmer's Experiment.

This is the plan most meat&eggers stick to:
meat
seafood/shellfish
eggs
fat for cooking (butter, coconut oil, plus some use mayo)
low carb spices and herbs
NO veggies, cheese or dairy (some use cream for coffee)

The general idea is to keep carbs under 5g per day. You count anything with artificial sweetener as 1g.

A lot of people find this way of eating useful to throughouhly cleanse the body and figure out trigger foods. Others find it the best way to eat for life. I personally really enjoy the freedom it provides...

Give it a try, and good luck! The folks on the Meat & Egg thread are an amazing group.

Oh - just a tip.

If you do want to get support on that thread, avoid calling it a fast. They've had some problems with location on the forums. Lots of people there are doing it as a way of life, not a stall breaker or short term fast.
