BOOKS! Let's start a reading list!
Hi Everyone!
It's a snow day here (Seattle area), and as I procrastinate and don't clean the mountain of hair and skin care products from under my sink, I was thinking I might just curl up with a great book instead! And then, I thought it would be GREAT to start a reading list here of our favourites, related to our LOW CARB journeys!
So, if you please, write the TITLE, AUTHOR, and a brief description of what it's about/why you loved it...
1. Grain Brain, by Dr. David Perlmutter.
I love this book! It explained very clearly how things like cholesterol are actually good; how one glass of wine can be beneficial, but more can be damaging; and most interestingly of all, how the dawn of agriculture and processed sugar consumption dramatically changed our diet, but that we are still genetically and physiologically identical to our ancestral cousins. It's no big mystery why everyone we know is fat and getting sick, but there is a way to prevent infammation (major culprit in SO MANY diseases) and live a healthy life. *Very nice recipes at the end of the book, too.
