Oh- Cross posted with Lori- THERE YOU ARE !!!!!!
and TRIG!!!!!

Trig- the heat DOES take a toll on us!!!!!- don't underestimate it! - I am pretty sure that is why I feel like a slug. The weight issue is another separate issue.
I mostly likely will not have anything on Tue. But my plan calls for me to see the PCP before I can see a specialist and get a referral. So I will be looking this weekend and tell the doctor who I WANT TO SEE!

Yes- BLUE- I am truly the PIA patient!!!!! I walk in with a list of my wants for them to DO. I tell them what I need and never shut up long enough to hear them.
But if they do get a word in edgewise- like please take a statin- I simply don't!!!!- YUP!!!!!!-

Out into the sauna. -
Yes I called the patients physician to see if she has ever been tested for XYZ- and left my number. I also called the member to tell her If we don't get an answer she needs to get a little proactive and get on the phone.

We all need to be our own advocate!

Have a great day all-

FISH for dinner and salad, and tons of herbal tea today and water. Got to get my pee clear! I know TMI!!!!!!! -

Hi all.

Lori---mmmm, that Venti iced coffee you like sounds delish. I'm just too cheap to get my iced coffee at Starbucks. LOL, I love McDonald's coffee. Strong and rich. Who knew right? $1 for a large. I pick it up and sip away while running errands and then make iced coffee w/cream w/what's left when I get home. Or use our cold press, which we always have in the summer in the fridge. You do remind me that I should order some sugar free flavors, love the caramel. If I'm really feeling like a little party, I put whipped cream on top. All for under a buck. It's funny how we all have things we'll splurge on and other things we put our foot down to.

Jaz---I think it's fine and necessary that we walk into any doctor's office with an idea of what we need and questions to ask. Docs hate the google machine because their patients arrive w/information that's often not applicable to their situation because they haven't been diagnosed yet. Still, good to have those questions and thoughts ready because if you don't, they're out of the room before you know it.

Will say for me, I DO listen when I've had my say. I find that although I've had a few crappy doctors, most of them have been pretty good at knowing what's up, or at sending me on if I'm in the wrong place.

I dunno, but your issue does seem hormonal to me, not something they slap you on statins for. But btw, I too said no to statins. And after a year on LC, they were no longer recommending them to me---although the original doc who tried to pressure me into them, and she was one of the bad ones for me, told me any diet I went on wouldn't matter. Heh. That was like waving a red flag at a bull. I hated her arrogance, and I set out to prove her wrong. And I did.

Trig---I really loved your response to my questions, and I really get it. When you think about it, in many ways vacation should be the time we leave behind our old habits and feel freer to try something new. I DO think vacay the way you guys do it, in an RV, is more like home on the road, still different yet all the ability to cook and choose your own meals.

And when you're on vacay the way you guys do it, I get why this is true: "In vacay mode heck I can skip food cause I don't care about it like I do when home." Yeah, because you are free in other ways and being stimulated by so many other things.

Hi Nic--- Miss you and can't wait to hear the news.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh YUCK, it's like a sauna outside. I find it so oppressive. At least in the winter when it's bad, one can dress for it and GET OUT. Breathe in some fresh air and get some apples in your cheeks.

Even my hubby who is Mr. Optimist is in the doldrums w/this weather. I have never liked the dog days of summer. Seems they got here early this year and hoping they leave early too.

Another OMAD day for me, I believe it is my 5th. It's just working for me right now, so I'm going w/it. One good thing about this oppressive weather is it dulls my appetite, heck, it dulls everyone.

We're supposed to get a break from this tomorrow w/much lower temps and humidity. Hope they're right, but ya never know.

My BFF is coming over tomorrow and we're going to a sweet little fave supper club for dinner, then we're going to swim, then a good movie and a sleep over for her. Cozy. Can't wait .

Tomorrow may be a treat night for me, we'll see. Thinking about it. Will do OMAD again if I can tomorrow, regardless of whether it ends up a treat night. I never do it if I need food before dinner, but somehow this has been an unusually long period of time when it's worked for me.

Hope everyone's having a TGIF night, just not w/carbs.

OMG BLUE- your girls night sounds so much fun!!!!!!!- Seriousl fun!!!!! Enjoy yourself!!!!!!- You are so bless to have those kinds of relationships!
What are you going to watch? Have you seen Vineyard yet. I really didn't like it- I thought it was sad. I would opt for a funny chick flick. I just love Diane Keton - I would rent on of hers! Hummmmmmm - sounds like I might have to pull something in those lines tonight.

OMG the HEAT- the heat the heat................. HEAT!!!!!!!!-
My poor patients, mail people, lawn workers, ME, it is horrid. I am so over it. I finally have clear pee after 3 days. I have been PUSHING water like no other. My lady I saw today was in the ER for a UTI from dehydration - no joke!!!!!

I agree 100%with you BLUE on this as a hormone issue- no doubt about it. WHICH hormone? Estrogen, progesterone, Leptin, Grenalin, Cortosol, Insulin, the list goes on and on and on, I should just left due process have its way!!!!
An listen for a change. Little miss smarty pants is not any better off.

I am done for a week- computer closed, kitchen cleaned and dishes put away, trash out, floor swept, and misc, papers picked up and neatly put away- YEA!!!!!!!!-

Poured a first and last glass of wine and am taking it back to th ebed room to prop up my feet and see what I can find to watch. In the mood for a movie.
Got the AC - poor AC- Working double time. Got the thing cranked down to 67- my windows are water in the mornings from the condensation.

My OMAD working for me too! I splurged and got fresh gulf grouper tonight- OMG good with a small side salad.so good , it was a thick piece too! Have half left over for tomorrow. Let's cups with a fish filling and slaw topping and boom done- cool, left over no hot kitchen done!

Night all!!!!!!-

NIC- Thinking of you in big NYC!!!!!!! - be safe

Good Morning!

Would you believe that it was 86 degrees in our bedroom when I went to bed last night and I slept like a rock! So did DH. Having the fan pulling air in over our bed makes all the difference. 1 Advil PM and some "Sleep" essential oils rubbed on the bottom of my feet and I'm out.

It helps that my arm has been SO good lately. Still don't have outward rotation and trying to reach behind my back is a no go, but the constant ache is gone unless I do something stupid. It does ache for a couple hours after yoga class, but then it's fine. Go to the Sport Chiro for the first time on Tuesday. Anxious to learn about her "Active Release Technique" for restoring mobility.

I'm so envious of you girls and your OMAD success. Yesterday I "broke" around 10. Here I sit this morning at 7AM and my stomach is already growling. Sigh. I'm trying to ignore it.

I'm not cooking tonight, so we'll get something in. Maybe a sub without a bun for me? We'll see what sounds good.

We have a few errands to run sometime today and that will be the extent of my activity.

Blue...I do love the Starbucks Iced coffee, but I also make my own here at home. I have a cold brew pitcher and I pour some over ice, add heavy cream & a squirt of Sweet Leaf Stevia in the English toffee flavor. So, so good.

Speaking of coffee, I need to infuse a bit more to wake up this brain!

Have good days!

VACAY DAY 1- Oh yea!!!!!!!!!

Lori- - I just even DREAM of sleeping in a 80+ degree room. Even with fans- no way! Wow you must be acclimated. You would literally FREEZE in my house. It actually is a joke with my son when he comes- he brings an extra comforter. I crank it down to 67- WITH fans!!!!

OMAD, Well like I said, not everyone can do it. Maybe you could start with an eating window and work it slowly down- closing the time. It is not for everyone. Maybe you do need to have a small mini meal, maybe shake or something about noon and a descent dinner. My biggest question is are you eating enough HEALTHY fat? - Because that is what is going to keep you going? When you make your Bullet coffee do you use oil or butter? Just asking?

Oh- your relaxing day is going to be a duplicate of mine- I might not even get outta my pajamas. Take a bubble bath and fresh set of lounge wear! - It is a nice change of pace from hundreds of miles I have put in this week. I have everything I need for today- no need to go out.

I am so glad to hear your arm is FINALLY giving you some relief! Are you doing something different? Do you think it's the massage?

Enjoy your day!

NIC- our BIG CITY GAL!!!!!- I am thinking about all your adventures and can't wait for a check in!!!! You leave Monday right?

BLUE- - I LOVE how you have been celebrating your birthday for weeks. I might HIJACK that idea for the ENTIRE month of January! I love it!!!!!!- While settle for one day? You keep right on doing your thang!!!!!!!!- Enjoy your BFF time. I will be curious to see what you end up doing!

TRIG- - I bet you are not doing your pool. I thought I would never say- to HOT for a pool.
Had Grouper last night. Was wondering if you have a good place to get your fish?
Do you like fresh tuna? Like tuna steaks on the grill? If you have never tried it - TRY it. The secrete- rare! Don't over cook. Truly it is a sear and let it rest. It should be no more than warm.

What is on your plate for this weekend? Anything going on in your neck of the woods?
-----------------------------------------------------
Took my bubble bath and put on some cool breezy lounge wear, having my last cup of coffee before I switch to my hibiscus ice tea!

It is so hot and humid that it is gray and we are having pop up down pours. I got caught up in one yesterday.
I really do want to see that moving I was chatting about. I am torn about just having one entire day to putter. I have stuff I can do- set up the new TV and clean up the office to make it more "friendly" to be in. Right now it is a paper mess- office and work crap laying everywhere- I don't like going in there. Not inviting. I should do something with that room. I was even thinking about redoing that room and even picking up a nice chaise to have a sitting quiet area.

Of course however is the ever present TREADMILL that has become quiet the clothes hanger- best ever!

Ok- well off into my day- Have a great day all!!!!!!!!!!- Truly enjoy your day

All, 90 degrees at 900AM this morning. Ran 2.25 miles with my group. There are some things I would never motivate myself to do if it were left up to me. But I will respond to the beckoning of my group. We have evolved to be social animals, so I guess that makes good sense.
Question: Can I ever afford to forget that losing weight is my number one goal? That all the secondary goals, health, running, fitness, flexibility, attitude and humor can be connected to that goal?. Can I ever afford to deny that sugar is toxic for me and it is everywhere? I am on guard for myself and the guard can’t fall asleep! When I look at food, I shouldn’t be nonchalant. I wouldn’t be nonchalant if I were walking on a path high on a cliff. So being on guard is the price I pay. But look what I get for my payment! If zero-carb is wrong, then I don’t want to be right!
Looking at doing some Yoga at my gym. Any advice? Do I need yoga pants?

Greg.....IMO Yoga is a great thing in all parts of life, but especially as we age. It is wonderful for balance and strength. I do sport yoga which is quite intense, but any form does a body good. Any comfortable pants will work for yoga...just nothing tight that will not move with you. Some people at my gym enjoy doing Tai Chi as well. Give it all a try!

Jaz...I eat plenty of fat. MCT oil, heavy cream, full fat cheese, butter. I think the "not being able to fast" thing is all in my head. I just don't want to! Remember, I'm a spoiled brat.

I think the massage and my trip last week to the chiro has made the world of difference in my arm. I still have miles to go to regain my mobility in total, but I'm making progress. I'm anxious to see what the Sports Chiro has to say on Tuesday.

Enjoy your jammie day!

Hi all!

I have sat down at least the past two days running to write updates, then I have to abandon my computer bc I have run out of time and then by the time I come back there are more updates and I'm too tired and ....

So, before I forget:

LORI- I am so glad that your arm is doing better. Do OMAD when it works for you and otherwise let it go, IMO. And there is NO WAY that I would be able to sleep happily in temps like that, but I am honestly glad that you can! Big money saver right there!

JAZ- YAY for vacation time!! Enjoy it! Whatever happened to that Dr that you were going to meet with in ATL that you were so excited to find? Was she not taking patients or something? I agree, too hot even for pools.

BLUE- Sounds like a really wonderful time coming up with your friend. So cozy and enjoyable. I feel like you are in a good place and I'm glad!

ED- Yay for getting a run in, even with the hot temps.

TRIG- I know you will be glad to get to go on your beach trip again not too far in the future.

So yep, I've been here in NYC all on my lonesome and I gotta say that I am pretty proud of myself. It helped tremendously to be here a couple of days ahead of time bc I am comfortable with the area in which I am staying and feel comfortable wandering around and being able to reorient myself.

The first day of training Friday positively kicked my butt. I was still slightly woozy as my body was recalibrating from the vertigo of Wednesday, I had taken a half of a dramamine so I felt a little bit out of it, plus it was hot AND I am just not a person who sits for hours on end, listening. 8:15-6:15 is a long day!! I felt like my brain would leak out my ears. I came back to the hotel room (I had leftovers from before and there is a little kitchenette) and ate and was otherwise just braindead. Plus my body just HURT from sitting, you know? I had slept fitfully the night before as well, bc I don't want to lay down flat and kick off the vertigo again.

Today was SO much better. Still long (same hours) but I think I was somewhat more adjusted. It went faster, people are more familiar with each other now and there is some laughter etc.

When it finished I went from Uptown to near Brooklyn via the subway bc I really really wanted to hit this Panzarotti shop that I saw on our Brooklyn food tour. Panzarotti are an amazing deep fried pizza calzone thing that I have the BEST memories of from growing up in Milan and I have NEVER seen that word in America, so I haven't had a panzarotto since the early 1980s. I was almost beside myself when I saw it! So I traveled there (in 95º heat) and they were CLOSED even though the posted store hours said they would be open. I was SO SAD. They are closed on Sundays so my chance is gone until next March. I was bummed out.

Took the subway back Uptown and went and walked around Central Park to get in my steps today. I've had between 10K and 20K steps daily being here. I tell you, I would love to live in a city for that reason. You see SO MANY old people walking here. I mean, they may be slow or whatever, but they are out and walking, doing their daily shopping or walking their dogs or whatever. They are healthier for having been doing all the walking.

Leftovers in the hotel room again tonight. DH and I ate at a family - style Italian place when he was here and there was SO MUCH FOOD. I have been enjoying lunches out though during our 45 minute break.

Tomorrow is the last day of class- 8:15 to something like 4:30 and then that part of the certification process will be complete! Still much more to do, of course. It has been interesting and I have learned a lot, both from the teaching and the discussion. It is nice to be with people who share my interest in helping new moms and new families adjust to the shock of having a new baby and all the joys, strains and pressures that accompany it.

Not sure what I will do with my late afternoon/evening on Sunday. Then Monday I head back on the train!

BTW it was 100º here in the city today. Very, very hot!

Good Morning!

1 hour of morning left. I popped in earlier, but didn't have a lot to say, so thought I'd wait. Still don't have much to say, but here I am!

Super hot & humid again today. This is the last day of this oppressive weather and then it is to break and be a very nice week. Looking forward to that!

Nic....so sorry you made the trip for your special treat and the shop was closed! How disappointing! I can only imagine how hot it is in the city with all the asphalt, concrete & huge buildings. Not a breath of air, I'm sure.

Safe travels home tomorrow.

I am having a hankering for hummus, so I'm going to break down and get some today. My favorite thing to dip in hummus are those hollow pretzels. A lot of carbs, but I may splurge. I'm also going to get some low carb beer. This hot weather calls for a cold one!

I'm going to strive to fast 16:8 this week. Since I get up so early, waiting till Noon to eat is just torture. 10AM works much better for me. I may also throw in some low calorie days too......just going to listen to my body. Trying to force the issue of fasting last week didn't result in any weight loss, so why force it? Maybe it's not for me.

Planning on more walking/running this week since the weather will be perfect. Since there will be no yoga classes, I'll have plenty of time.

Stay safe & cool whatever you're up to today!

Oh- I am BUSTING!!!!! I NEED to share what happened yesterday!
BLUE- PERK UP- HEHEEHE
So I had to return a library book. On my way to the there I saw an Estate sale sign. So on a WHIM....... I decide to go. It was in a million dollar neighborhood- truly. Cars were just lining the place- truly a million dollar home! - Huge. Anyway, thankfully the family was just downsizing and nobody died!

So I am poking around and I was looking for a SMALL kitchen/ dining table. Nothing was SMALL in this house. So the tables were out. So on my way out- I was in the formal living room when I spotted a "fireplace chair and ottoman"- it was draply like a chaise lounge. Anyway it was the deep merlot color and the STYLE of the chair that caught my attention. So I go over and see that it would be a PERFECT fit for what I have been looking for in my office to make a sitting/ quiet area. The pice tag on it was 450.00 for the chair and 150.00 for the ottoman- 600.00 for both. I started to walk away when I spied the person running the sale. I came in at the final hour- So I said, I MIGHT be interested in the set. She said how much were you thinking? 450?
No- I will give you 100.00 for both. This lady looked at me and said are you kidding. This a custom made piece and very high end and 600.00 is a steal.
So I said- I made an offer, take it or leave it. If she could have spit on my shoes she would have. She actually called the owner who said YES!!!!!!!!- OMG!!!!!!! She was so over me. Well there was this 30 male there helping people get stuff moved - who helped me get it into my Honda. Granted I drive about 10 miles an hour with it HANGING out of my trunk- but it is SO Beautiful.
So I looked up the brand- Henredon - They are a custom HIGH end furniture gallery. This chair is in PRISTINE condition. I think it was "for show" and never sat on. Not a single spot on it. It is lovely in my living room. I just can't take my eyes off of it. And comfortable- it FITS me!!!!. It is the perfect size for me. I love than it gives support and its cozy! I might keep it in the living room as well. I am conservatively thinking this new would go for around 3K.

I also snagged two HUGE drapy silk greenery in baskets to put on my high ledge. I now know I want to fine 2 very tall Vases to place on either side and it will be completed. I am so glad I have waited for just the RIGHT thing to catch my eye.

And then I bought a whimsical nautical piece that was priced at 57.00 got it for 15.00. As I was leaving- the bitty had the nerve to say to me "I hope you appreciate what you have just walked out with". Oh well......... I do appreciate it- more than the bitty knows!
That was my Diamond find yesterday.
---------------------------------------------------------
NIC- I am loving your posts about everything happening for you! I am bummed for you that you did not get what you had your heart set on as a treat. Rode the subway- took hours and only to find they were closed????? Why were they closed on a Saturday? That is so odd to me. But at any rate- I am totally sure that when you do get it, you will savor every bite!
It's it funny how food can bring us to places, events, and certain periods of time!?
I think it is so true about NYC and how everyone walks! I bet you don't see a ton of obese people do you?
I know that walking and being so very active is not a end all be all. It however is a side benefit that you FEEL fit enough to be able to walk and get around. If you are so full you can't walk home it won't happen. It is a entirely different culture. I wish every city was walkable. Most cities- we just love our cars.
I hear that MOST people in the heart of NYC- do not even own a car. Not worth the money to keep, maintain and store- let alone the traffic!!!- cheaper to just rent one if needed.

So you are taking the train back tomorrow! Safe travels home and don't forget to take a water bottle!!!!!!! Trust me- I got dehydrated in no time flat from being out and about in this oppressive heat!

TRIG- - I know you are enjoying your time with the hubby hunting. Is he coming back today or tomorrow? Is the kiddo home with you? Does she hang out in her new room most of the day? Speaking of- how does she like her new room?

I hope you got to play in your pool with no worries. although it sure has been so hot even for a pool. It would feel like bath water.

Oh I was going to ask you about your shakes. So those don't take away the hungers? Awesome however that you let that BRIEF- craving of having to have "something"- pretty much pass!
I like to have deviled eggs followed by a pickle. I know it sounds strange. But I swear try it! So the egg gives to a delish bite of protein and fat, and the pickle cuts the want for anything else due to the vinegar. DILL pickles are our friend. Just gotta eat in moderation due to salt!
Hows your momma? So nice of you to help her out!

BLUE-
- can't wait to hear how your slumber party went and what you did!!!!!!- Girl you seem to be able to take the ordinary and make it a celebration!
Post up- I want details!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Lori- - Totally agree with TRIG on this one. Not everyone can do a flat out OMAD. I have been doing it for over 10 years. I did it before it really had a name. I did it because it just "felt" right to me. Then I just sorta stuck to it. When I "have to socially" eat out of my rhythm it does throw me off in a way.
But I seriously just don't get hungry until about 3. Then about 4 is my "sweet" spot to eat. That will carry me through the evening. But I have never been a grazer or a snacker- even when I was fat. (Like I am talking like I'm not- HAHAHA). But you get what I mean. I was however a big lunch / big dinner back in the day- when I was at my heaviest. It is just not necessary. But you just have to do what feel right to you and not compare to anyone else. Period!!!!!-

I so need to start moving thought about brining my treadmill into my living room. MAYBE I would actually USE it!!!!!-
How is your arm. You have not posted about in several days which tells me you must be feeling better!!!! What a time and a long time! I am glad at any rate that NEXT year I can bet you will be the first on the gold course!!!!!
But you know you have filled in that gap nicely with Yoga and running!

Did you get that AC unit in your bedroom yet? I like TRIG- would sleep like a baby with that "white" noice, and cooler room! I don't know how you do it- no AC???????-

Greg- or is it Ed? I am confused? I think its great you have a running accountability group! Where are you located again. I am too lazy to go all the way back through the post!!!! just SPOON FEED it to me!!! HAHAHAHAH. Does your wife run with you and do Keto as well?
It always helps when your partner eats the same way!
I do enjoy your posts- we are a chatty group as you can tell!
----------------------------------------------
Ok- one more thing........
I had to kill another frekin snake first thing this morning! BEFORE my coffee I might add. It was a baby snake about 8 inches long with a diamond head- making it's way to my grass from the patio. I am afraid for Bella to go out there knowing she could be bitten. I have a pond on the other side of my fence line and that is where all the critters come from. It is scary.
TRIG- I would NEVER make it on a farm- ever.
I prefer manicured lawns to farms/ and swamps- what I call the think on the other side of my fence! I didn't know there was water on the other side when I bought the place.

The silver lining though as BLUE calls it- is the variety of birds from being surrounded by water and trees. Then I put would wild high-grade birdseed and boom. I am having to look up the variety on line. My favorite on is a the one that have crested heads and long swallowtails. Beautiful. I have tons of finches and red birds too!

I need to go out and get something for my OMAD. Not even hungry. Although I do have some thawed chicken I could grill up and just have that and a salad. Or make chicken salad and put them in let's cups.
I still need to get that book back to the library- never happened yesterday!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I will be ready!!!!!!! - I am going to give myself a difficult challenge. I know I have tried it and failed SO many times. But I am now really ready. I am tired of getting sicker and sicker with dairy.

Remember Gregs story about the chipmunk would risk everything for the blueberries? I feel like a chipmunk after cheese and it is inflammatory to me. Without the gory details I have had to get up with a "sick belly in the middle of the night and it wasn't pretty. It absolute HURTS my gut - for a couple days even. -

Well I am going to attempt once again to go 30 dairy as an elimination test. It would be the very first thing any doctor would tell me to do. So I just need to suck it up and do it. This MIGHT be the answer- I dunno. But it needs to be done.

So I actually tossed out my last bit of parma yesterday- and am starting today.

It's going to be another HOT OPPRESSIVE HEAT day! my poor ac machine.
OK all - going to get into my day- and get my errands done early. I am working on a power point presentation for a friend- for a few bucks. It's really more of a favor. But he doesn't know how to do one. I just need to put his stuff on the slides and send it back. But it is a time suck for a couple hours. So that too is on my agenda.

Have a cool- safe Sunday!!!!- WATER WATER WATER

quick drop in- I did get a air fryer today. I just had to try it out. I wanted to go and look in person. I got one. 59.00 bucks at Walmart. - anyway, my chicken was AMAZING!!!!!!!!- Can I say AMAZING-

Had with coleslaw and it was a "FRIED" not fried BBQ JUICY chicken dinner.
I also made extra BBQ chicken for tomorrow- and left over slaw- dinner is done!
I can't wait to try pork chops, and hamburger. I also thing maybe Zucinni in it would be great

VERY VERY good - it tasted like take out but it wasn't. Clean up when I say was a breeze- it really was. OMG easy. Literally wiped it with a warm wet paper towel - down. No tons of pots and pans- it was awesome!

Hope it continues........ my ,eat was fab. I am going to You tube Keto- meat fry recipes. So frekin EASY!!!!!!!- no drama to it- no mess- no smoke, no nothing but turning on a button, and a shake half way through. I got a Faberware model. Little concerned about the handle, seems a bit flimsy- so I will be easy and gentle.

Hope you all had a great day. My OMAD tasted like cheating without the cheat!!!!!

- Tomorrow, day with kids- GREENVILLE trip!!!!!!

Hi all.
Nic---I loved hearing about your weekend. Oh man, what a time to be in NYC w/these temps. If you had to be inside all day, sitting, at least it was in the AC. I get antsy in those kinds of things too, but I do find if I'm interested and engaged in the workshop/meeting, whatever, it makes a big difference. Sounds like this was true for you once you got past that first rough day w/not enough sleep. So glad to hear the vertigo left you alone after that initial attack.

Lori---OMAD is something that only happens for me when it works. I have a rule about any kind of woe---I don't do uncomfortable hunger. No reason to, blessed as we are. One can solve that problem w/anything from a LC snack to a small or regular sized LC meal and be much better for it, imo.

I've had a recent stretch of OMAD working for me, and like Jaz, it can come easily to me due to my natural rhythms. But it's not something I need to make a lifestyle of. You are so active, even with your healing wing, and exercise and activity stokes the appetite. That's just a fact Jack. So, imo, let it work when it does, and when it doesn't make other smart decisions.

Jaz---Oh girl, you did GOOD on that Henredon chair AND ottoman! Henredon is one of the finest names in furniture still made here. It IS expensive, because it's so well made and can last and last and last. But of course, that assumes your taste will not change for years and years, and buyers have become increasingly less interested in investing the cost for that kind of quality when they may change their mind about what they like.

I just LOVE that you threw out the offer and stood your ground. Knowing it was the last day of the sale is all the difference, and they should have marked that chair and ottoman down long before. Not at all surprised the buyer said take the hundred bucks. Furniture, even the best, w/few exceptions, is kind of like a car. You should buy what you like and can afford, NEVER consider it an investment and don't expect to get near what your paid for it when you try to sell it.

Oh, and please tell me you're not going to drag that tread mill you never use into your lovely living room. Trust me, you won't use it more there, it will just crowd the space and not be as convenient to hang clothing on.

Also, wish you the wind under your wings w/your no dairy challenge! Know it's a continuing issue for you, and think it would be interesting to see how you feel after you've giving it up for a month---perhaps long enough to get far enough beyond the cravings to feel the benefits.

Trig---

steadyed---I like what Lori said. One thing I would advise, start w/a beginners class in yoga and work your way up. At a time, I did all kinds of exercise videos and by far, yoga was the hardest for me because I thought since I was fit, I could do harder yoga tapes. Well...they were the work outs I could never finish. And worse, it soured me on Yoga, when really I had just jumped ahead of my body's abilities as imo, Yoga is very much its own discipline and a deceptively rigorous one.

I say start slow and basic and give yourself a chance to grow into it before you decide if it is or isn't for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last night was just totally fab. Pal and I had a great dinner, hubby ducked out and that was fine. Would have been great w/him, and was also great w/out him--don't tell him I said so.

Then she and I came home and hit the pool around 8. OMG, it was gorgeous. The heat broke here yesterday. So it was just cool and breezy and the water was perfect. Haha, hubby came down at 10 because that's when the pool closes and to make sure we hadn't drown or were locked out because I'd forgotten my keys. Yep, we floated around on our noodles in the water for 2 hours chatting away.

Then the three of us watched an absolutely stellar movie. We all just really like it. Hubby actually stayed up past midnight, sound the hallelujah horns!

This morning hubby made we girls an unbelievable breakfast, and then my pal left and hubs and I were both feeling low energy as all get out. Don't know why as we were so lucky here to have escaped the heat dome. Gads, it was a gorgeous day here. mid 70's, breezy, sunny and no humidity.

Great, but the kind of day it's hard to make excuses to lay on the sofa and read. So I did manage to drag myself down to the pool for my work out. I got water weights from my SIL for my B'day and really gave them a work out today. Also ordered an "aquatic belt" which I'll say more about when I get it and experiment w/it.

In any case, I am loving water exercise, getting deeper into it, and starting to think about how I can continue it after our pool closes.

Oh, made it on plan thru yesterday's fun, even though I gave myself permission to have a treat night. BUT, then today, I just decided I need a treat night and am off to enjoy it.

Do you have the floaty with the seat in it???????

I would recommend a silver seeker program via Medicare that PAYS for your gym membership that would include a pool. Look it up- silver sneakers!

Has anyone every heard of Dave Asprey? A friend of mine told me to You tube him. - So I finally made it to the library yesterday, and dusted checked to see if he had any books. He does- I didn't know who came up with the Bullet proof coffee of what the back story was. He has a book out and several you tube videos which I want to see. Apparently he was over 300 pounds and could not figure it out.
Sound familier? -
So I picked up his book. - I am pretty excited, my first 5 pages in! -
hoping when the kids NAP I can dive in and gleen something.

Hope you are all well- gotta run. Back later!!!!
