This way of eating is what I naturally gravitate toward...I'm having a little bit of trouble getting back into strict low-carbing, so it's harder to just eat once or twice a day right now. I'm going to start back up, and then go to IF once I'm back in the swing of things..

Wondering if I can join the thread? I've been doing the M&E 5/2 challenge. I love the almost no carb approach. I'm still stalled though! Since Feb. I've been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. and no movement on the tape either. Read all the articles posted on IF'ing. I've also always gravitated towards this WOE. I have to force myself to eat all day. Its just not natural to me. I like eating in my little window everyday.

Have any of you done very low or no carb and IF'ng? How did you like it if so. I'm gonna do it anyway. Just curious if it helps move the wieght loss along. I have'nt read all the previous posts. But I am still in the process of making peace with my body! Thanks for any input. Everyone have a wonderful day.

welcome one and all Jessica and tprice!

I'm doing pretty darn low carb IF (around 10 a day at the moment).. pennink doesn't really drop into the thread much but she also does VLC IF from memory.

How am I liking it? I like it just fine so long as I keep my fats up, otherwise I'm very hungry

Hi I want to visit the thread. I have been lcif for over a year and I am pleased with it. This has been a revealing experience. Things that I thought I knew are now superstitions. I thought that in order for the metabolism to function properly, it had to have a somewhat steady level of food. This isn't true. The digestive tract takes time to complete its task from one meal to the next. The food has to become fuel for the liver, pancreas, heart, brain etc. It takes time to do theyse things. If you consume food before the digestive process is done, what happens? Fat must be stored because the body has to digest something else. It is as if the digestive tract says to the body "here, hold this until I can finish digesting the next job". This is how I look at IF. I lost 18 lbs since I began IF without changing my wonderful low carb menu.

Thanks for the info everyone. I started today. I really felt like my old self again. After I eat during the day I would drag because I felt so tired. Not so today! I had energy a plenty. I agree with keeping the fat high. I've noticed that for myself I get very munchy if the fat content drops to low. I'm ganna give it 4 weeks to see if it is what I'm needing. It felt very natural today. But this is the 1st day. I really think I will fall right into this WOE though. I'm really trying to listen to what my body is telling me. Thanks everyone for your info. Its all very helpful.

I'm back to IFing a little, too. I admit to only doing it for weight loss purposes, it helps me restrict my caloric intake. I'm a grazer by nature, and though that works really well for maintenance, I find it hard to keep calories low enough to lose weight like that these days.

I'm a big believer in getting adequate protein each day though, and I have to confess that I find it tough to get in enough protein on IF. I think I'm going to start supplementing with a protein shake each IF day.

I'm doing an IF day today, maybe another tomorrow. Weekends are tougher for me to IF, so probably not again until Monday if all goes well.

I'm down 2 lbs this morning. I have so much energy I can not believe the difference! Woke up at 5 am. I don't even have to be up until 6:30. For those of you who have done this before or for awhile, does it really work this qiuckly. This is the only thing I've done differently to my diet. Hope it lasts. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hullo, IFers, you've made over 2000 posts, so once again it's time for a new thread.
