how about we get a third party involved to do a review?

it'd be an unbiased third party review? whaddayasay?

ChaseFreedom.com is a site that does reviews of diets - they have over 300 diets listed. anyway, there's an email address listed on there where readers can submit a diet for them to review...all you have to do is put the name of the diet you want reviewed in the subject line--easy peasy.

i've submitted Kimkins but there's already a long list of diets to be reviewed. but maybe, if all of us can also make a request, perhaps that would encourage them to rush that review a bit?

Sounds like a good plan. What has Dr. Eades said on the subject, if anything, of low-fat, low-cal, low-carb diets? Since he blogs, I thought perhaps maybe he'd be willing to review and comment on the Kimkins plans?

One thing I think is really important is that we have a record of everything. I hate to even bring this up, but with all the deleting of posts and threads that's going on, I'm concerned about losing "evidence" that could be needed by someone in the future, for a few different reasons.

So it would be good if all who can do so saved all relevant pages. They need to be saved as whole pages, and preferably in .pdf format, or next-best: screenshots. Don't open, edit, or re-save them again, so timestamps stay the same, and match your access time to whatever site you saved them from.

I don't mean to sound freaky, lol. It's just an ounce of prevention thing I've seen others be very sorry they didn't do.

Hey this is really interesting, thanks for starting it or re-starting it whatever is the case. Yesterday on this forum was a thing that was written like and advertisement for Kimkims, which I had never heard of before then, and I replied to the person asking if they got a kick back for advertising in here. It made me mad. Anyhow, the moderator must have removed it because I looked for a response and it wasn't on my subscribed threads list. Weird!

Oh and PS it was in the introductions forum, that's why I looked at it. It was written like it was a person introducing themselves and then selling kimkims saying it was safer than Atkins and you could lose 20 lbs in 10 weeks.

I know what you're talking about, and that wasn't the at at all.. The poster wasn't trying to advertise for them... It was posted at the other board, and was just someone making people aware NOT to do it... It was the 5 lies or something like that.. All it did was link you back to 'the bad' site...

Some people were just trying to make others aware... The situation has been taken care of...

hi Kiki,

Actually, the post that shy_anne is referring to was different . It was definitely spam advertising, and contained an affiliate link directly to the KK site. It was removed, as promotional advertising is a violation of the forum rules.

Yeah KIKI....that thin air puts you in "fightin' shape" in no time eh? LOL

It does scare me how much the Kimkins diet can feed in to an eating disorder. I have a friend who fights against her ED on a daily basis. She is 6' tall and only about 145 lbs. It is a struggle for her to eat, but she is doing it...summer time is always rough for her due to other health problems, but she is determined not to fall in to that bad pattern again.

The blind devotion to Kimmer, that not wanting answers to legitimate questions...it is scary! I started calling those types "Kimtologists".
