The Simple Treat Bakery in Pittsburgh sells though its store, and area GNCs something called "waterbread" and "waterbagels" (pizza crusts too). They insist their bagels clock in at a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture confirmed 4 carbs.
The bread is similarly low, and as someone who has tried a variety of products that range from OK to awful over the past ten years, I cannot believe that this true Italian bread, and almost cakey white bagel could possibly be what it is claiming.
I am looking for advice about how to get a product tested for its carb count, and any other comments you have.
Please believe me when i tell you that if this is true, you would be blown away by the taste. While I was in the store I observed a customer buying 12 preordered sleeves of bagels. I am really trying to make this work, and it might be the difference between sabotage, and a lifelong possibility of commitment.
Thanks to all.
