Hi BeachyLady .. as Judy said, because I'm in the UK, the brand I use from my local health food store wouldn't be available in the US.

As for flavours, yes I do have a variety. My favourite is banana, which I usually have in a shake most mornings, but I've also currently got strawberry, toffee and vanilla in the cupboard.

Sometimes I also 'add in' flavours ... a shot of expresso with vanilla protein powder makes a great Frappucino shake.

Here's a couple of links to some shake recipes that I devised when I was on Atkins.

To make them SB-friendly, just leave out the cream!

Cool

Thanks Demi for the great recipe links! My favorite is an ice coffee I make using a cafe mocha flavored protein powder. I just make a large vanilla flavored coffee(16oz.) I let it cool down a bit, then add a scoop of the protein powder, shake it up and refridgerate it until the morning. I need it too, I get up at 3:15 a.m.!!! I store it in a great glass that came with a lid!

I'm off to the festival today so my menu is going to look a little strange. I'm going to have my largest meal at lunch so when I get to the festival in the evening I'm not so hungry and can take my time and scout out the eateries. I'm also taking snacks with me.

Breakfast
butterbeans with mackerel

snack
flaxmeal muffin

Lunch
seafood curry with an assortment of veg (snap peas, brocc, cauli)

snack
fruit with cream

dinner
at the festival

This is really helping! I have a list of foods you can and cannot eat---but I have trouble combining them into actual daily meals. I'm not sure of veggie + proteins combinations etc...? Can you post some phase I daily menus to guide me? I can always switch some stuff to what I like. Like I have never tried humus? Thanks! I want to start tomorrow!

Hi and welcome!

You will need to get the book and read it so thagt you have a better understanding of this plan.

The thread with all the food lists and meal plan charts is located in this forum, not this thread. Its pinned near the top. It say "Updated Food Lists"
heres a link for you:

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=254313

As for whole grains....you can have them on atkins too....see the OWL phase of atkins.
Yogurt also.....all the food we eat on SB are foods that you can eat on atkins also. The higher carb level you get to, the lower your fat intake will need to be...that is one reason why SBD is lower in fat than atkins but it is not a low fat plan...it is a good fat plan.

bump for newbies or anyone else who would like to list their menus daily.

This would be in addition to your journal logging of your food.

This is a great thread for newbies to get ideas of what to eat.
