Low Carb Tortillas are proof that god loves us!

Hehehe, I am sorry, I just got back into town from Florida and for 5 days I felt like i was mid-starvation...lol!

I am So used to preparing for myself and having my own refrigerator full of low carb convenience that I was lost outside of my own kitchen.

I just sat and ate a low carb chicken cheese lettuce and ranch dressing wrap. (wrapped with a 3g tortilla from heaven)

I am curious as to what you would fill this blank in with in your low carb lifestyle...

__________ is proof that god loves us!

Good to be home!

I am reading right ? ! Beer is a good LC item ? Also how do I get started with this whole LC thing. I heard about Atkins, don't know too much about it. But from what I have heard it will immediately help you to lose weight. I am 305 lbs, and I want to get down to 185 lbs. I know this will not happen overnight, so I am ready to listen, learn, and execute.

enovativ, I hear ya. We all have to start somewhere, mine all started one day I was out with an ex boyfriend of mine and he started talking about carbohydrates and what they do and if you get rid of them you will lose weight.

So i tried it and I did.

If you have good will power and are really determined to lose weight.

If you love the idea of losing weight More than endulging in food. Then Atkins would be the way to go (the only way I know)

I started at about your weight and i set my goal for 200 because hell I dont think i even remember ever being 200 lbs =)
I am 5'9 and i could use a little meat on my big bones.

Anyhow, the first process you do in atkins is called Induction.
It is a 2 week phase that you limit ALL carb intake to 20 grams a day or less of course.

This means...off the top of my head

Do not eat
Sugar
Flour
Pasta
Rice
Potatoes
Chips pretzels
Juices
Milk
regular pop

Ok ok i could list tons of that Not to eat list
But the good news is, you can eat all the meat you want...

Tuna
Beef
Chicken
Pork

Get really used to reading labels...
If you didnt know what a carb was before this (like me)
They will soon become your worst enemy, because you will find them in Everything.

There are alot of things on the market (snacks, icecream, tortillas, bread) that are low carb, but be careful because 20 grams of carbs may be considered low carb when its alternative is 100 carbs.

Count your carbs--Plan your meals--Become familiar with food lists of what you CAN eat.

Carbs add up fast.

ANyhow, back to the other half of your question, in the first 2 weeks we mainly lose water weight of between 10-12 lbs.
Yeah sounds great and some real progress. But the KEY is...here it goes, im giving you the key to weight loss right here... Dont give Up. Dont cheat.

Thats right.

After my 2 weeks, I stayed on 20 grams or less a day for well, im still on it (6 months now)

But i dont count my green vegetable carbs.

I lost 2-4 lbs a week fairly quickly for the first 3 months.

They say those of us with More to lose, tend to lose it at a higher rate.... I say... YAY!! hehe

Ok i have to go or ill type all night. Hope this helps a little.

ONE more thing... here is a link to a Food list (i didnt mention alot of the foods you CAN eat and i felt bad)
