Default coffee

I keep finding dif. views on whether coffee has carbs. I don't think it does, or my bg meter would reflect it. Anyhow, I laughed when I read the interview with Karen, and she said she thought it was so "butch" to drink the coffee plain. When I was 12, my uncle let me help in his garage - I wanted to be like those big, competent guys, so come coffee time , it just seemed too wussy to ask for milk or a soda. So grabbed the big thick china mug, and didn't like it at first, but soon adjusted. I still don't use sweeteners, but a touch of cream is mighty fine. Bill

It is my understanding that coffee has about 1 carb per cup. A little less than 1 actually, that is why it doesn't always register.

But, it's coffee so who cares?

Hi Alaskaman,

I must have my coffee. I drink it 24/7. I heard that coffee has less than a carb, but it's the caffene that does something to your surgar that makes your cravings worse. I make that sacrafice.

Patty

Coffee affects some (cravings); but does not affect others but of course, depends how much you drink. I have 2 mugs every morning...does not set off cravings...and I would not give it up for the world

I find that a couple of hour after drinking coffee I get a bit hungry, a bit hangrier than I would be if I hadn't had coffee. I would say it is probably slowing my rate of losing a little (maybe).
BUT, I love coffee, and I rather lose a bit slower than give it up!

I take typically 5 blacks coffees a day....+ 2 teas.

I'd swear that it keeps me from being hungry.

There ARE benefits of drinking coffee.
