Hi, I'm new here. I've been low carbing for many years, well, when the urge for freshly baked bread doesn't get to me when I'm in Asda or Tesco. Does Asda have to ring that darn bell when the bread is ready?

I went home to the states in Feb (I've lived in England now for 30 years) for 3 weeks and was amazed at all the low carb things available. For my next CARE package I'm asking for more Dreamfields pasta.

Carol

Sorry, I'm here but I've been given a new diabetes drug, Byetta, and eating is hard for me. It is an appetite suppressor and causes nausea as a side effect. So for breakfast I might have a fruit and that's too much. The first week I was on it I lost 4 pounds but 2 seem to have come back due to the slow gastric emptying. But the best is that my blood sugar numbers are down.

Default Dreamfields pasta

You're not alone don't worry!

Perhaps you'd like to take a look at the Dreamfields pasta website, it's low carb and low GI, it has great taste and texture and is an excellent source of fibre...sounds too good to be true!

www.dreamfieldsfoods.co.uk

Top UK nutritionist Patrick holford had this to say about;

“There are two criteria of a perfect pasta – it must taste delicious and have a low Glycemic Load (GL). Dreamfields pasta fulfils both. A serving has half the GL of wholewheat pasta and a third the GL of white pasta. This makes Dreamfields pasta perfect for those concerned with weight or blood sugar balance.”
Professor Patrick Holford, founder of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and author of the Holford Low GL Diet (www.holforddiet.com).

Hope this helps with you quest to find low carb foods.

Cheers Lee

Hi,

Just so you know that there are other low-carbers in the UK, so don't think you're alone Metal Mum

Are you familiar with Dreamfields pasta? It's a great low carb pasta that's now available in the UK?

Cheers
Lee
