Default Shame them into losing weight

The Ad Council and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are placing tiny T-shirts in dryers throughout New York City, urging laundry-doers to “Shrink a few sizes.”

Ouch!

The campaign, done pro bono by McCann Erickson, sends the presumed to be overweight or obese to HHS’s Smallstep site, where they are further encouraged to “shed those holiday pounds, reduce their risk for obesity and lead a healthy lifestyle,” according to the press materials.

So now the government thinks shaming people is going to make them lose weight?

I'm sure that the employees of HHS have the same obesity rate as the rest of the population. They should put that t-shirt on each employees chair and see how successful that becomes before going public with the campaign.

Those "small step" morons got millions in federal grant money to run lame ads too. Apparently if you play with your kids one day or go to the beach, all the fat just falls off your body.

Well, I know I walked up the stairs yesterday and ate whole-wheat toast for breakfast, and all the fat just fell off mine. Who'd a thunk it?

NOT!!!!

What stupidity. Do they think overweight people don't know this stuff? If it was that easy, we'd all be skinny.

How small are those shirts? Maybe they'd be useful for...keeping the hamsters and gerbils out there warm this winter...so something actually useful comes of them.

Gee, I hope they aren't too small - my dogs could use some new t-shirts to stay warmer around the house.

I honestly don't know how they think they can "shame" people into losing weight. I wonder if there's any way to "shame" HHS into hiring people with brains.

Amazing, they can afford cr*p like this but they can't afford health care for children! Fire 'em all for greed and stupidity!
