Talking First time here - lost my 50

Hello everyone!! Making my first post, kinda shy, just been reading for a couple of days. I started Atkins in August, 2004, weighing 290 lbs. As of Dec. 15, I had lost the 50 lbs. I'd set as my goal. As of Christmas, I'd lost a couple more (just so I could cheat a little at Christmas). Still maintaining - hopefully will gather some pics to post soon. Atkins really does work!!!

I was so excited when the weight started falling off during Induction, that I stayed on it for 2 months!
Gregg

Rachelle and Talla!

I'm very excited to see how active this forum is!! I actually started this diet casually and on a whim (based on the success of a co-worker). After being on Induction for 3 days, I had lost my huge appetite and couldn't hardly believe it. Although most of it was probably water weight, I lost 10 pounds the first week. So, I decided to buy the book and get serious.

Once changing my eating habits changed, and I continued to see success, I just kept getting more and more enthused. After about 30 pounds, people started to notice, which was even more exciting! I'm 6'5" tall, so when I was 290, I actually kind of hid it well. 290 is OK for a football player, but I don't play anymore (played in college).

I actually weigh about the same now as my sophomore year in college (1988). Anyway, nice to hear from y'all and will work on posting a pic or two tonight. Thanks again

From one newbie to another, congratulations on your success! It's stories like yours that have me so encouraged. I've never tried low carb eating, and I must admit I'm pretty excited about it all.

Cool Thanks for all the support!!

Stayed up late last night watching the national championship football game, so didn't get my pics posted. But after digging out from the snow (we got 10 inches), I finally got a before and after pic posted. Hope to post more...later slimming friends!

I'm sorry... did you mention the word shy up above? Nah, couldn't be....... I think I've belonged to this forum since the end of summer, and I've yet to submit a 'before' picture.. so you're way ahead of the ballgame. And btw, you do look great. Congrats on the 50 lbs, and welcome.

Michelle

Default thanks jiggerz

You're right in some respect - I'm not sure I'd have had the courage to post my before pic, except that I'd already lost the weight I wanted to lose. I popped over and checked out your journal - keep your head up (so we can see your pretty face). Thanks for the support - you can do it!!!
